HORI Officially Announces Fight Stick for Nintendo Switch
Even more ways to play!
A little while back there was a leak that showcased potential peripherals from HORI that could be used on the newest Nintendo console. Among these was a HORI fight stick designed for the system. HORI has now announced on its official Twitter page that it will indeed be releasing a Nintendo Switch version of its popular Real Arcade Pro V Hayabusa fight stick. No further details were disclosed, but one can expect it will retain the features of the recently released 2017 version of the stick for other consoles.
It’s fantastic to see HORI proceeding forward with the fight stick in order to accommodate players who prefer this “traditional” style of control. Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers will feel much better to much of the fanbase with a fight stick on hand.

Titan Comics Launching New Tekken Comic in May 2017; Check Out These Covers and Preview Pages
With the King of Iron Fist Tournament 7 set to kick off in three months, Titan Comics will be releasing a new Tekken comic book series in May 2017. Cavan Scott (Doctor Who, Vikings: Uprising) will be handling the story, while Andie Tong (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) will be providing the interior artwork.
Titan states that this new series “will tap into Tekken’s rich history, and will feature memorable characters from the celebrated video game canon including Jin Kazama, Heihachi Mishima, Yoshimitsu, Nina Williams and Paul Phoenix.”
From writer Cavan Scott:
I’m so excited to bring the explosive world of Tekken back to comics. I’ve been a fan of the series ever since I slipped the first game into my PlayStation back in 1995. We’re having great fun delving into the series’ history to bring back some familiar faces, along with all the fan-favorite fighters you’d expect. There’s going to be intrigue, danger and, of course, knock-out battles galore!
CraveOnline has released a series of covers by Alex Ronald, Andie Tong, Anton Kokarev, Jimbo Salgado and Nick Percival: two featuring Heihachi battling Devil Jin, one of Heihachi and Kazuya that looks similar to the cover of Tekken 7, one showcasing Nina facing off with Yoshimitsu and a fourth with various characters.
They also released a pair of interior pages for TEKKEN #1, depicting Paul, Jin and Ling Xiaoyu about to face off with Heihachi in an epic clash!
Tekken #1 is planned for a May 2017 release in both physical and digital formats.

Under Night In-Birth EXE: Late Named a Free PlayStation Plus Game for March
Now that we’re in March, the PlayStation Blog has released its list of free games that it will be offering to PlayStation Plus subscribers. While the highlight of this month is Disc Jam, Under Night In-Birth EXE: Late is included this month, for PlayStation 3.
Developed by French Bread and Ecole Software, and published by Arc System Works/Aksys Games, this unique title sports an eccentric cast of characters, as well as some unique mechanics, such as the “Grid Grind” (GRD) system that functions as a tug-of-war between opponents, rewarding the first to fill this meter with a damage boost called Vorpal. Though the title’s latest version, Under Night-In Birth EXE: Late [st] is only available in Japanese arcades–with no word of a console release–the game still sees competitive play at a number of events, including last month’s Anime Ascension, so it’s certainly worth giving it a try.
If you’re a Plus subscriber, you can pick up the game for free right now on the PlayStation Store.

PlayStation Access Runs Down Seven Things You Should Know About Injustice 2’s Gear System
Besides the obvious addition of new characters like Swamp Thing and Doctor Fate, as well as extensions to the ongoing Injustice storyline, one of the major new features in Injustice 2 is the new Gear system. Similar to collecting loot in an RPG like Destiny or Borderlands, players can outfit characters with specific gear to boost stats, gain special abilities and change their appearance. In a special interview with Injustice 2 designer Derek Kirtzic, PlayStation Access have found out some new bits of information about the Gear system.
The interview goes over things like the ability to see your opponent’s Gear loadout after a fight, the ability to change outfit colors as part of Gear customization, as well the in-game currency system which allows players to sell old pieces of Gear to gain Coins. While most competitive players won’t be interested in Gear, Kirtzic did say that Ranked Matches will allow players to keep all the cool cosmetic customizations, but the stats will be at their base level. He did not make it explicitly clear that Abilities won’t be locked out when playing in Ranked mode, so you may be able to use different character Abilities in Ranked.
