How to Start a Fight and Finish It Quickly: Javits Breaks Down How to Beat Laura in Street Fighter V

Arguably no-one in the returning cast benefited more from the changes in season 2 than Laura. The ju-jitsu grappler has become one of the strongest characters in the game, with heavy mixup potential that will leave you on the ground for a great deal of the match, should you not know how to defend against her.

With that, Javits Arias has created a breakdown of the general Laura matchup over the course of the last few days on Twitter. Given how it could be difficult to sift through his tweets to find all of that, Javits took the liberty of compiling it into an Evernote for everyone’s perusal.

The Community Shows Its Love for a Newlywed Player via Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- Combo Videos

A well-known Japanese Venom player known as 310 (@310_progressive) just got married a few days ago, and in a supremely sweet gesture a congratulatory hashtag was created:

#310さんおめでとうコンボ

Under this hashtag, everyone posted combos that did exactly 310 damage, against Venom using 310’s benchmark color (white and red).

Venom has a staggering amount of options with how his pool ball projectiles interact, and 310 is known for pushing the character and creating fantastic tech and combos. It’s fitting that a pioneer of his character should receive so much love in the form of creative combos. To do this much damage—about 75% of Venom’s life—often requires utilizing full guard gauge or the Danger Time mechanic.

Here’s some favorites:

Leo, signing the guest book mid-combo:

Kum going ham with close Slash:

Slayer, with congratulatory clapping:

And of course, some Venom himself:

Beyond that, the trend has continued to other games, where 310 damage is a much different achievement:

Big congratulations to our Venom innovator, 310!

Counter Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-‘s Leo Whitefang with This In-Depth Guide

Leo Whitefang is one of those characters in Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- that particularly preys on a lack of knowledge from his opponents. Leo has many options to mix up and outplay the foe with cross-ups, a countering stance, and a guard-crushing move. To keep abreast on strategies from the Lion’s Den, top Japanese players began scribing a comprehensive guide, that now has an English translation.

Ruu, Takehara, and T5M7’s guide to Leo Whitefang begins by breaking down normals, explaining the frama data on each and its specific functions. What’s more, they give advice on countermeasures to those attacks, detailing what happens if you jump, backdash, or press buttons. The second part explains Leo’s special moves and takes a similar approach.

Part 1 is translated by BloodWolf and Part 2 by LordKnight. Additional clarification and collaboration comes from Mr. K and Bears.

For some Leo footage in action, here’s a long set between Ain (Ky Kiske) and Muumen (Leo Whitefang).

NetherRealm Studios Finally Shows Off More Footage of Injustice 2, via IGN First

After almost four months of radio silence from NetherRealm Studios, the developers of Mortal Kombat are finally back to show off some footage of Injustice 2. Shown via IGN’s First initiative, they have chosen to break down Supergirl’s move set, displaying her specials, some of her combos as well as her unique combat trait.

As well as hearing the familiar voice of NetherRealm community specialist Tyler Lansdown, diligent watchers will notice that Supergirl has been to the clinic for some facial reconstruction surgery. With many complaining about the female character models in NetherRealm games, it’s promising to see that the studio has gone back to the drawing board to quiet fan concerns.

With Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite also scheduled for 2017, it’s going to be a the fierce year between comic book fighters.
