Who doesn’t love a good Steam Sale? Not many people. So, for your spooky Halloween weekend, Steam is running a special Halloween sale with offers on tons of games, particularly for some of the best fighting games on Steam at the moment.

Among the sales are Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late for just under $20, BlazBlue ChronoPhantasma Extend, Guilty Gear Xrd, and Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code for $15. The prices get even lower than that, with Skullgirls+DLC available at a little over 6 dollars, or 10 dollars for the complete 2nd Encore package (which contains additional modes). There are other low price games, with GUILTY GEAR XX ACCENT CORE PLUS R being available for just under $5, along with other big discounts for Arcana Heart 3 LOVE MAX!!!!!, Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm and Vanguard Princess. The sale lasts until November 1st, so be sure to act quickly!

If you are looking to pick up Street Fighter V to catch up on all the action, now might be a great time to purchase the game as Street Fighter V is currently on sale at a number of retailers.

Both GameStop and Best Buy both have Street Fighter V for PlayStation 4 on sale for only $29.99. Take note that this is for the physical disc version and that buying them will still incur shipping and handling charges.  Still, they’re decent deals for anyone looking for a physical copy of the game.

In addition to this, both Amazon and GameStop have the collector’s edition of Street Fighter V, again for PlayStation 4, on sale for $38.97. The collector’s edition includes with it a limited edition 10 inch Ryu statue, 48 page hard cover artbook, DLC cards for extra goodies, a one month subscription to the Capcom Fighters Twitch channel, digital Street Fighter comics from Udon, a Street Fighter V soundtrack sampler and more.

While Street Fighter V has had a rocky launch, the numerous updates have helped pad out the game’s content and address more than a few of the game’s issues.  Features such as story mode, daily challenges, costume shop, etc. have now all been added, while issues such as the input delay have been addressed as much as they can be without affecting the game’s balance.  In addition to this, the game’s cast has been expanded with six additional characters, that can be purchased either via in game Fight Money or real money.

Interested buyers for the regular disc edition can head on over to GameStop or Best Buy. Meanwhile those looking for the collector’s edition can hear to either Amazon or GameStop. With the recent update to Capcom’s financial report showing that the game is still vastly under its sales targets, discounts like these may become more common as Capcom try to shift more units of Street Fighter V.

To help grow their place in the FGC, Flipsid3 Tactics has added two new members to its fighting game division. The first is Brazilian Necalli player Thomas “Brolynho” Proenç, joining the team off the back of his continued success in Latin America. With first place finishes at Latin America’s second Online Ranking event and Fight for Rio: Olympia, as well as victory over Evo 2016 champion Seon-Woo “Infiltration” Lee at Brooklyn Beatdown, Brolynho’s Necalli is a force to be reckoned with and is certainly looking like one of the favorites to qualify for Capcom Cup out of the LatAm Regional Final on November 2nd. Brolynho joins Antwan “alucarD” Ortiz as the second dedicated Street Fighter V player on Flipsid3 Tactics’ roster.

With the passing of Flipsid3’s dedicated FGC Division Manager Christopher “NinjaCW” Harris, they have appointed Matthew “Glitch” Testini to build on the hard work started by NinjaCW. Glitch has earned his stripes by running events within New York City, as well as competing for Play All Gaming as their team captain. His combination of TO and player knowledge makes Glitch well equipped to lead Flipsid3 Tactics to continued growth.

In a recent tweet, Alex Jebailey has announced that he has left Avyd.  For the past five months, Jebailey has been the company’s FGC Director, helping with the company’s efforts to support fighting game events around the country.

Today I'm leaving @avyd. I'm thankful for the opportunity but pursuing a bigger @ceogaming is my dream. Tomorrow I'm Full time CEO of CEO!

Prior to working at Avyd, Alex Jebailey served as community manager for Iron Galaxy Studios, helping with the company work with the community for Killer Instinct after development shifted to them for Season 2.

Avyd CEO, Scotty Tidwell had the following to say on Jebailey’s departure.

With this announcement, Alex Jebailey will now be the full time CEO of Community Effort Orlando, and will be focusing on extending the brand beyond the United States. Already, Jebailey has stated that he has a “an amazing thing lined up that I’ll be announcing in the coming weeks throughout 2017 so you can expect to see me more at events across the globe.”

Certain players oftentimes get heavily associated with one character. On such player is Red Bull’s Darryl “Snake Eyez” Lewis, while he’s currently been playing Ryu, prior to this he was known for his stellar Zangief play in Street Fighter V and Super Street Fighter II Turbo.

With this in mind, it’s no surprise then that a fan is currently working to bring Snake Eyes into Street Fighter V. Modder fatihG_ is currently hard at work transforming Street Fighter V’s Zangief into Snake Eyez.

The new model, which you can see in the gallery below, is still a work in progress (you can still see some bits from Zangief, such as his arm bands). That said, aside from the oversized muscles meant to match the Zangief model, it does seem to capture Snake Eyez pretty well. In fact both Red Bull and Snake Eyez have retweeted about the mod (specifically, this in game test shot from Longshot).

To hype up the final saga of the year, 2GGaming are collaborating with smash.gg to bring another Super Smash Bros. for Wii U online qualifier to fruition. Titled “Hero to ZeRo”, this qualifier will have the winner receiving flights, hotel and entry to 2GGT: ZeRo Saga at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, on December 16th to 18th. 2GG seems to have extended the event to be over three days instead of two days, making more time for great Smash 4 action.

Similar to previous online qualifiers like Key to the PG House or Road to Shine, this grand qualifier will be split into four mini-qualifiers, culminating in a final top 128 man bracket to decide the hero with the potential to take down TSM|ZeRo. This qualifier is open to residents of the USA, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean and like with other massive online events, players must reach the minimum Internet speed requirements to compete in this event. All of the details regarding rules and regulations are available on the smash.gg page.

Hero to ZeRo is free to sign up for, with the first qualifier starting at 12pm on November 5th. The other qualifiers will start at 2pm, 4pm and 6pm, with the final bracket starting on November 6th at 12pm.

In an update to Capcom’s 2016 financial report on Thursday night, it has been revealed that less than 100,000 copies of Street Fighter V have been shifted between May and September 30th. During the release of the initial financial report in May of this year, Capcom revealed that it had shipped 1.4 million units of their latest fighter, which was way under its initial target of 2 million units to be sold by March 2016. While the September update saw other figures change, the Street Fighter V sales figures has remained at 1.4 million.

It seems that even with the release of the cinematic Story Mode, the Evo finals of Street Fighter V being televised on ESPN 2 and the continued success of the Capcom Pro Tour, the company has failed to properly deal with the initial negative press of Street Fighter V’s barebones February launch and its confused DLC plan. While Capcom did promise that they would not release a “Super Street Fighter V”, it may be their only way to increase sales figures outside of the core FGC audience and account for its rocky launch, which was styled after other esports titles like League of Legends but was not priced accordingly to match its main console market.
