Back in 2000, Japanese developer Psikyo released a multi-directional twitch arcade shooter known as Cannon Spike, or Gun Spike in Japan, named after Cammy’s trademark Special Move. It was later released by Capcom that same year for the Sega Dreamcast. The title allowed you to control fan-favorite Capcom characters, such as Arthur, Cammy (whose SFV outfit is based off of this game’s design), Nash, B.B Hood and Mega Man, as you blasted through multiple Capcom-themed stages. Recently, the CFN Portal decided to spotlight the two original characters in the game, Shiba and Simone.

Today we have the mysterious young man Shiba. He seems to be cooperating with Delta Red, the British Special Forces group to which Cammy belongs. Basically, he’s an enemy of Shadaloo.

He’s followed by a support robot named Akabi that subjugates mobs and insurgencies by spitting flames from its mouth. Shiba seems to be acquainted with Nash, but when and where they met is unknown.

Next up, we have the second original character from Cannon Spike, Simone! A nasty, bothersome mercenary who aids Delta Red, like the previously introduced youth Shiba. She wields a powerful samurai sword!

When the Matcherino stretch goal of $4500 at East Coast Throwdown was met, Daigo Umehara gave a Q&A to the people in attendance. During the session, Daigo was asked about his top 5 character rankings. Umehara–always one to go one step further–gave six characters, ranking the top of the class as Chun-Li, Ryu, R. Mika, Karin, Ken, and Cammy–in that order. He also described Chun-Li, whom many consider to be top tier, as being in a tier all her own.

With that information out in the open, VesperArcade gives a breakdown of Daigo’s tiering of characters in his latest video. He goes over what generally is agreed upon, and then adds some input that may actually disagree with the tier list. He also gives his own personal tier list of Chun-Li, Nash, Ryu, Ken, Necalli, and Karin.

While tiers are always controversial, always in flux, and can be highly subjective–it is interesting to see some discussion over the opinion of one of the greatest minds in fighting games.

The Real Arcade Pro 4 from HORI has been a staple for many arcade stick users since the start of this console generation. This second generation Vewlix based design contains many unique features, including HORI’s own line of arcade parts. That said, the RAP 4 does lack the color options available compared to some of its competitors–until now, that is.

HORI has announced a new line of colored variants for the Real Arcade Pro 4. These new editions of the RAP 4 will come in either Red, White, or Blue bodies with matching artwork.

Mechanically, all three variants use the same Hayabusa lever and buttons as the regular black RAP 4 Hayabusa. These are the same parts also seen in the Real Arcade Pro Premium VLX Hayabusa that we reviewed earlier this year.  The sticks also retain the same functionality as the default black RAP 4 Hayabusa including the touchpad, sped adjustable turbo, and an Assign function for swapping out button assignments such as Options and the touchpad.

Interested parties can now head on over to HORI Japan’s online store to pre-purchase the red, white, and blue versions of the Real Arcade Pro 4 Hayabusa. Suggested retail price for each is ¥ 16,178 ($156.74 USD) with tax.

In addition to this, the red and blue variants of the RAP 4 Hayabusa will also be the basis of the Touhou Urban Legend in Limbo arcade sticks that were announced alongside the game’s PS4 release. The red RAP 4 will be the basis for the Amazon Japan exclusive “Reimu Hakurei” version, and the blue RAP 4 will be the basis for the HORI store exclusive “Marisa Kirisame” version.

Our next set of Capcom Fighters Network profiles take us to one of the most obscure corners of the Street Fighter universe. Back in 2008 as part of Street Fighter’s 20th Anniversary, Capcom released a pachislot game developed by Enterrise in Japan, titled Chun-Li ni nakasae China, which translates to “Chun-Li Leaves China.” The first game to feature Chun-Li in a starring role follows the Strongest Woman in the World, along with Rose, Guile, Sakura and Ryu, as they battled Zangief and the forces of Shadaloo: the Dolls, Cammy, Vega and M. Bison, in addition to rescuing an unnamed girl. Akuma even makes an appearance. These next profiles will focus on the two original characters created for the game, Chun-Li’s friends Mary and Reiko.

Today we’re focusing on profiles of characters appearing in Chun-Li Leaves China. This is Mary. She’s a normal girl who doesn’t fight.

In the future, she hopes to work for some sort of an intelligence agency. How about Shadaloo? It’s a great place to work, I promise!

Another character who appeared in “Chun-Li Leaves China.” You can tell that this woman loves motorcycling just by looking at her outfit. She doesn’t practice any martial arts, thus she cannot fight.

Since then, they’ve become good friends and keep in contact with each other. She loves her favorite red racing suit. She’s really cool! Let’s sponsor her! Please Lord F.A.N.G! How about we send some Shadaloo stickers to her! We could affix it in a prominent place where it would stand out here in Shadaloo… What? We can’t? I’m sorry. Man, what a pity…

For fans eagerly waiting for the release of this game, developer Twilight Frontier has finally revealed the games release date for the game. Urban Legend in Limbo will be released on PlayStation 4 in Japan on December 8.

Alongside new character Reisen Udongein Inaba, the PlayStation 4 version will also have an “EXTRA Mode” that follow the story of Reisen after the events of the mainline Touhou installment, Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom.

In addition to these, HORI will release a pair of Urban Legend in Limbo editions of their Real Arcade PRO arcade stick. The “Reimu Hakurei” themed version will be exclusive to Amazon Japan, meanwhile the “Marisa Kirisame” version will be exclusive to HORI’s own online store. Most fans of Street Fighter are familiar with Shadaloo’s group of 12 assassins known as the Dolls, due to them having a large role in Street Fighter V’s Cinematic Story Mode, in addition to Juni, Juli and Decapre being playable in past titles. We even covered their CFN Profiles back in June. However, it’s a little-known fact that there are actually a group of Apprentice Dolls within Shadaloo, who are ranked below the main group we’ve come to know, with the aspirations of someday rising through the ranks to join them. There are three Classes of Apprentice Dolls as follows:

Basic Information:

Name: Junior Dolls
Equipment: Night-Vision goggles, Psycho Power amplifying devices
Duties: Serving each of the Four Heavenly Kings, Infiltration, Base Security

Name: Intermediate Dolls
Equipment: Chest rigs, Headsets, Psycho Armor (Epaulets), Psycho Stun Guns, Psycho Grenades
Duties: Serving the Four Heavenly Kings, Battle, Base Security, Sabotage

Name: Senior Dolls
Equipment: Psycho Armor (Epualets)
Work: Serving each of the Four Heavenly Kings, Commanding troops and directing battles, Training the Junior and Intermediate Dolls, Battle, Sabotage

These are all soldiers who yearn to be Dolls. Some Junior Dolls appeared in the pachislot game Chun-Li ni makase China (“Chun-Li Leaves China”). The Intermediate and Senior Dolls are more combat-oriented, and tend to be out on the battlefield. Senior Dolls actually outrank the Senior Shadaloo Soldiers! Their code names come from the signature flowers of their home countries, such as the Löwenzahn, a German name for the common Dandelion.

Bandai Namco Entertainment recently revealed their stage schedule for the 2016 Tokyo Game Show. As expected, among the games that the company will be showing on stage is none other than their flagship fighting game, Tekken 7: Fated Retribution.

While Tekken 7 being featured isn’t surprising, what is exciting is exactly what they’re going to have on stage. The listing for Tekken 7 states that they will be holding a special “Greatest vs. Greatest” stage show. What exactly this means is as of yet unknown, however it does hint at some for of exhibition show, or maybe even a tournament.

With the show being held in Japan, it’s not much of a stretch to imagine Bandai Namco bringing in some top players from the country–as well as neighboring Korea–to participate in the show.

The Tekken 7 Greatest vs. Greatest stage show at the Tokyo Game Show will take place on Sunday, September 18, from 10:30 AM to 11:10 AM Japan time (6:30 PM to 7:10 PM PST on September 17).
