Earlier this morning, Nintendo released another patch for the handheld version of Super Smash Bros. 4 that brings the title up to the same designation. Much like the previous update, which dropped right before the North American launch, this one features balance adjustments that make for “a more pleasant gaming experience.”

Players have been scrambling to figure out what, if anything, was changed in this patch. Little concrete information has been uncovered at this point in time, so stay tuned for future findings.

Note that you will need to have this update applied to your game before you are able to partake in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS’ various online modes. Instructions on how to download and install this patch can be found here.

Martin Murray defeats Dominic Spada and sets up clash with WBA king Golovkin next

British middleweight Martin Murray (29-1-1, 12 KOs) scored a seventh round technical decision over Domenico Spada (39-6, 19 KOs) on Saturday night at the Salle des etoiles in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
The bout was stopped at 1:19 of round seven due to a cut on the side of Spada’s right eye, which was caused by an accidental head butt in the third round.
Murray, who was deducted a point due to the WBC rule that  indicates a point be taken away from the uncut fighter, won by…

Sagat Holds No Sway in the Face of Vega’s Beauty – Possible Ultra Street Fighter IV Glitch Discovered by TechnicalCakeMix

Last night, Capcom divulged their plans to fix a brand new Ultra Street Fighter IV glitch that was uncovered after the ver.1.03 patch landed online, but it appears they may have a bit more work on their hands.

TechnicalCakeMix recently released a brand new video that shows off what he believes to be another bug. In the demonstration, Sagat is unable to land any attacks–normals, specials, super, ultra…anything–against Vega in training mode. It’s worth pointing out that, as he is unsure how this all came about and hasn’t been able to replicate it, there’s definitely a possibility that this isn’t a widespread issue, either throughout the rest of the game’s modes or with the entire cast.

So, any thoughts? Let us know if you’ve run into this issue before and any ideas you may have as to what caused it in the comments.

Capcom Plans to Fix Newly-Discovered Vega Bug in Ultra Street Fighter IV Before End of Year

Despite correcting numerous issues from a previous update, the ver.1.03 patch that was applied to Ultra Street Fighter IV earlier this month has unfortunately created a new issue involving Vega spread across PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Steam.

Capcom’s Peter “Combofiend” Rosas recently brought this bug to light in a new Capcom-Unity blog post, detailing exactly what happens, what can be done to fix it on the fly, and their plans moving forward.

According to Rosas, the glitch works like this: should an opponent trade hits with Vega in the air during the Rolling Izuna Drop follow-up to his Flying Barcelona Special super, they may become frozen in mid-air–some instances may even see Vega become stuck as well. You’ll find a demonstration of the bug below, courtesy of owasoku.

While there are ways around this, either by simply attacking the frozen character, returning your offline console to the home menu, or waiting for an online match’s timer to run out, it’s certainly a frustrating scenario that they are in the process of fixing. Fortunately, they have already found what causes the issue, but working out the kinks will take a bit of time.

Capcom plans to have a correction to this bug released by the end of the year, and will be providing periodic updates between now and its launch.

Alexander Povetkin hammers Takam in ten

Russia’s Alexander Povetkin (28-1, 20 KOs) defeated Carlos Takam (30-2-1, 23 KOs) by a 10th round stoppage on Friday night to capture the WBC Silver heavyweight title at the Luzhniki Concert Hall in Moscow, Russia.
Povetkin was too strong and sharp for the Cameroon fighter, who produced the higher work rate but Povetkin’s bullish power had Takam on the retreat thoughout.
The first knockdown came at the end of the 9th, a double left hook followed by a right cross put Takam down on the…
