Largely (literally…) silent, Roadhog is a formidable Overwatch tank. Little has been known about him other than his friendship with Junkrat, another denizen of the lands Down Under. However, we’ll know much more about the strong silent partner in this friendship after reading today’s latest comic called “Wasted Land”.

While refraining from divulging any details, it appears that the Overwatch / Blizzard CS folks will let you know the impact of reports made against other players. “We know that our players often wonder about what happens to the people they report. In this case, your recent report led to an action against that player and their account.”

The Overwatch team has revealed a new game mode coming to the Arcade. Players will be able to play both Team Deathmatch and Free-For-All Deathmatch. In the first, one team tries to take out the other to the last player. In the latter, it’s every player for him- or herself. Deathmatch mode maps will be modified versions of existing maps, though Blizzard is also introducing a new map that takes place in the former home of Widowmaker.

Two more teams have been announced for the forthcoming Overwatch League, one in London and the other in London. These two join the seven previously announced teams, each hosted in a city with the eventual promise of a dedicated venue over time. From now through October 30th, owners can recruit players for the League with a guaranteed $50,000 salary along with insurance benefits.

Blizzard is going to be cracking down on bad behavior in Overwatch effective immediately. Citing “play nice, play fair” as the core values for the game, the team is taking those values to heart. Starting now, there will be increased penalties to players after reports of bad behavior are verified. “Bad Behavior” includes: “anything from abusive chat, harassment, in-game spam, match inactivity (being intentionally AFK), and griefing.”

Next week, Doomfist will finally arrive on live Overwatch servers. This hero is one of the most highly anticipated characters to arrive since the game’s release in 2016. To get players up to speed on who Doomfist is, or was, a new comic called Masquerade has been released to explore his origin story.

Blizzard has unveiled the names of the owners of the Overwatch League teams and the cities in which they will call home. Cities include Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Miami-Orlando, San Francisco, Shanghai and Seoul.

Overwatch may have scored some heavy-hitters for its upcoming professional Overwatch League. Sources have told ESPN that both Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, and Sterling Equities, owner of the New York Mets, have reportedly signed on for professional teams. Additionally, the Overwatch League has signed on cities to host teams including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seoul, Shanghai, New York and Boston.

The Overwatch blog has a new “report”, a fictionalized news item, that once again raises the specter of Doomfist. The new post reveals that Talon, the organization headed by Reaper, has broken “Akande Ogundimu”, aka Doomfist, out of prison.

Overwatch has been updated with the latest patch that most notably brings the Horizon Lunar Colony map online. This is a unique map for a number of reasons including the low-gravity environment that can add a new challenge to the game.
