During a Korean interview earlier today, Overwatch eSports Director Nate Nanzer announced that the Overwatch League would begin ramping up in Q3 2017. The professional eSports organization was announced during Blizzcon 2016 and is a project that Blizzard is hoping will rival other, more traditional, sports leagues like the NFL or MLB.

The Overwatch site has been updated with a new “interview” with a character named Efi Oladele, a young girl from Numbani. She is considered a genius in robotics and AI and is only 11-years-old. This begs the question of whether or not this will be the next hero to enter Overwatch in the future. Last week, Jeff Kaplan hinted that the next hero “wouldn’t be who we might expect” but, honestly, did anyone expect an 11-year-old?

Overwatch – May the Payload Keep Moving – Tribute to a Fallen Friend
A group of blogger friends called Too Much Gaming have posted a moving tribute to a fellow Overwatch player who recently passed away. Twelve players went into the game and performed a 12-gun salute to Willem Den Toom. Each player used characters “that he loved and most frequently used”, the team said.
