Overwatch – Kaplan Lists the 10 Most-Played Characters at All Skill Tiers

Jeff Kaplan took to the Overwatch forum yesterday to list each skill tier and the 10 most-played characters at each level so far in Season 9. Unsurprisingly, D.Va topped nearly every list, while Mercy and Moira took top healing honors across the board. The top tank is Reinhardt, though Roadhog makes the cut in higher tiers. For DPS, Junkrat and Soldier 76 are popular at lower tiers, while Genji and Tracer only make appearances in higher tiers.

Overwatch – Could It Really Be JetPack Cat After All? Latest Clue Certainly Points That Way!

After a series of clues seemingly leading pretty much nowhere or to Torbjorn’s daughter as the next hero coming to Overwatch, today’s “clue” from Blizzard seems to be pointing to JetPack Cat after all. The picture shows a cat’s tail, a drawn cat face and “KattMatt” written on a sticky note. In addition, the word “morrh�r” appears on schematic of what could be a teeny tiny jet pack shaped into a lion’s head. What does morrh�r mean? Whiskers!

Overwatch – Torbjorn’s Daughter? Emre Sariogulu? JetPack Cat? Blizz is the Tease!

The Overwatch team continues to tease out the next hero coming to the game. Late last week, Blizzard began to tease out information, starting with an “After-Action Report” that named “Private First Class Emre Sariogulu”, a previously unknown character. Yesterday, the team published a heartfelt letter from Torbjorn to his wife after the incident mentioned in the report that spoke of the imminent birth of his daughter Brigitte. Today, they show off a schematic for a hammer with Swedish words.

Overwatch – Blizzard Starts Teasing Out Next Hero & Map

Blizzard appears to be ramping up information on the next hero coming to Overwatch. Last night, a Twitter post was released titled “After-Action Report, Operation ZX24AL, “White Dome”. The incident took place outside of Istanbul, Turkey and involved everyone’s favorite OW mom, Ana Amari. Other participants in putting down a pocket of “Omnic resistance” included Reinhardt, Torbjorn and someone named “Private First Class Emre Sariogulu”, a previously unheard of character.

Overwatch – Free Weekend Incoming; Check Out the All Heroes & Game Modes

Blizzard has announced that from February 16th through February 19th, folks on XBox One, PC and PlayStation 4 can check out Overwatch for free. All heroes and maps will be available to try throughout the weekend. In addition, players can take part in all game modes including Quick Play, Custom Games and Arcade. Those purchasing Overwatch will see all progress retained.

Overwatch – First Female Player Reportedly On Tap to Join Overwatch League

PCGameN is reporting that the first female Overwatch player is ready to join the professional ranks in the Overwatch League. “Geguri” is a world class Zarya player and has sent out a Twitter clip indicating she’s going to be joining a “foreign team” and that she’d received many offers from League owners. She did not say which team she is joining, though the speculation is that it will be the New York Excelsior.

Overwatch – Lunar New Year to Begin February 8th

Blizzard has announced that the next Overwatch event will begin on February 8th. Lunar New Year will likely celebrate the Year of the Dog with themed skins, icons, sprays and a unique game play mode. For instance, during the Year of the Rooster, players had to literally Capture the Rooster. Mei and the Lijiang Tower map are likely to take centerstage as well.
