After making its debut on the Overwatch PTR more than a month ago, developers have confirmed that the Blizzard World map will be making it to the live game starting on January 23rd.

Twitch and the OverWatch League have signed a multi-year media rights deal that will see every match in every season broadcast on Twitch. The games will be available to fans around the world, except for China. Twitch will be “the worldwide third-party digital provider” for all aspects of the Overwatch League including pre-season play, regular season games, playoffs and championship matches. Streams will be available in English, Korean and French.

If you’re excited about the start of the inaugural season of the Overwatch League on January 10th, we have even more great news. Blizzard has published a new Overwatch League app that is available for both iOS and Android mobile devices. With the app, you can keep track of your favorite team’s standings, get match results, check out the schedule, watch streams and VODs and much more.

If you’re into Overwatch competitive play, you’ll definitely want to check out a recent developer blog post about changes coming to Season 8 which has now kicked off. Most of the changes come through matchmaking including limiting the “maximum Skill Rating” differences between the highest SR player and the lowest SR player on the same team.

Just looking at the cover makes you want to go “D’awwwwww!” Blizzard has posted a very cute, very chibi-esque new comic called “Yeti Hunt” that ties in nicely with part of the Winter Wonderland event going on in Overwatch through January 2ndish, though no confirmed end date has been announced.

If the thought of purchasing a virtual currency used to buy pixel skins for your Overwatch characters makes your skin crawl, perhaps more tangible goods to support your favorite Overwatch League team is more to your liking. If so, the Blizzard Shop is packed full of t-shirts and keyrings, lanyards and pins, both for the League in general and also for each of the twelve teams.

Overwatch League Commissioner Nate Nanzer has sent out a new video to let players know that a new currency called League Tokens will be introduced in 2018. This special currency will be used by players to purchase Overwatch League skins that will not be available in Loot Boxes. The currency and sales of skins directly supports teams in the League.

From November 17th through November 20th, anyone on PC, PlayStation 4 or XBox One can play Overwatch completely free. All twenty-six heroes and sixteen maps will be available as well as all game modes. Players can level up, earn loot boxes to unlock customization options. In addition, anyone purchasing the game during or after the event will retain all progress from the free weekend.

Razer and Blizzard Entertainment have partnered to bring the world D.Va themed peripherals including the MEKA headset similar to the one she wears in game as well as a D.Va Razer Abyssus Elite gaming mouse and the D.Va Razer Goliathus Medium Speed mouse mat.

Fans of the competitive side of Overwatch will be pleased to hear of a number of improvements to make watching matches better. Jeff Kaplan outlined what each will bring to the game. These improvements include a top-down interactive map that “makes their job (observers and casters) a lot easier to relay information to you guys and make for a better broadcast”.
