Perfect World Entertainment has announced that Star Trek Online will be launching for both PlayStation 4 and XBox One in the fall of 2016. On launch, players will receive two expansions and eleven seasons of content, including 130 featured episodes to bring the iconic Star Trek universe to life.

Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment have taken the wraps off the third expansion to Star Trek Online. Called ‘Agents of Yesterday’, the expansion celebrates the original television series’ fiftieth anniversary and allows players to create a brand new captain from the timeline of Star Trek: The Original Series and command a ship also appropriate to the era.

Star Trek Online players will be able to participate in a new featured episode called Temporal Front on April 12th that will see them take on Na’Kuhl Temporal Agents attempting to destroy the Federation during a post-Iconian War convention with representatives of Federation, Klingon and Romulan factions.

Star Trek Online devs announced recently that the game’s skill system would be undergoing a significant update to be part of a future update. To show off some of the changes players can expect, Cryptic devs will be on hand on Friday, March 11th in the Star Trek Online Twitch channel. The event will begin at 1:00 pm Pacific / 4:00 pm Eastern and last for about an hour. The team will be fielding questions as well.

Players can look forward to server-wide giveaways, the annual anniversary event that will run from January 28th through February 24th, a brand new episode called Time & Tide, and a series of minigames to earn upgrades and a new science vessel.
