The latest developer diary has been posted on the Star Trek Online site that gives players and fans of the game an inside look at how the new pilot ships were designed, both from a gameplay perspective and from a purely aesthetic perspective.

Star Trek Online players will want to head into the game to check out Season 10: The Iconian War. Season 10 kicks off after five years, two expansions and the gathering of a galaxy-wide alliance to help fend off the greatest threat ever faced.

Cryptic Studios has announced that Season 10 – The Iconian War will be released on Tuesday, April 21st. In addition, Cryptic also snapped up another Star Trek: Voyager actor to bring voice talents to Star Trek Online. Robert McNeill will be reprising his Voyager role as pilot Tom Paris. In STO, Paris will be in command of his own ship and will have been living in Star Fleet space with his wife B’Elanna.

Cryptic Studios has announced that veteran actress Lisa LoCicero will be reprising her role as Miral Paris from Star Trek: Voyager. She will be joining players as they take on the Iconian threat when Season 10 launches later this year.

Al "Captain Geko" Rivera has taken to the Star Trek Online site to write an extensive article to give players taking part in the Delta Recruitment event a good look at one of the most dangerous opponents coming with the Iconian invasion. The Heralds are not Iconians, but are native to the planet and share common ancestry. They are valued members of Iconian society and serve as personal guards and stewards to high ranking members.

During Season 10 in Star Trek Online, players of all factions will be banding together to stop the Iconian threat. As part of the reward system for assisting in the endeavor, players can earn Iconian Marks by completing repeatable queued events that feature the Iconian Heralds. More Marks can be earned if players choose to scale the event to a higher level and successfully complete the event.

Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment have announced the Delta Recruitment event for Star Trek Online has launched. It is part of an ongoing story arc that has been building for the past five years. The Iconians are poised to invade the universe resulting in all races putting out a call for recruits to fight the threat.

The Star Trek Online site has been updated with a new blog penned by Lead Systems Designer Phil "Gorngonzolla" Zeleski. In it, Zeleski shows off three brand new Tier 6 ships: the Andromeda Class Exploration Cruiser, the Negh’Tev Heavy Battlecruiser, and the D’Khellra Battlecruiser Warbird.
