One of the most legendary names when it comes to combo video creators from back in the day is Magnetro. A very prolific creator in the community, especially when it came to Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Magnetro supposedly retired in 2010. However, after years away, he’s come back with another combo video.
Magnetro’s newest combo video, called “Chaos Dimension,” is once again focused on that most immortal of games, Marvel vs. Capcom 2. His return is due to the influence of yet another legendary combo video creator: Izumojin, who demonstrated ways of creating more MvC2 content using a PlayStation 2 emulator and save states. This allowed him to pursue ideas that he had since 2010, eventually coming up with enough for him to create this new video.
Even then, Magnetro actually delayed releasing this video for a couple of years (having completed it in 2015) before finally deciding to do so this year.

It has been understood for a long time that you can hit your opponent through the platform in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. However, a recent tweet from Japanese player MakuaJD showed off some surprising and powerful “true” combos with Corrin’s Neutral-Air through a platform:
And that’s where Beefy Smash Doods steps in to do what they do best: explain why these combos work, and what you can do if your opponent is attempting to use this tech.
Do note that these combos will typically only hit medium-to-tall characters, and many of the moves that lead into these combos are unsafe. The original Corrin example still stands out for being a Neutral-Air instead of a traditional Down-Air: it has safety far surpassing most Dairs.
Seeing as Blake from RWBY is partially a cat, she seems a natural fit for BlazBlue: Central Fiction‘s Taokaka. Tao also happens to have a reference color for Blake. Koefficient continues a series of RWBY-inspired combo movies with a Tao video with ZyxxLolz.
As seen in the previous two videos, the pattern is pretty similar. Interwoven with Blake’s theme and her footage from her introductory clip, we get a hype mix of combat footage and Taokaka’s wild spirit. Not a very common choice in Central Fiction, Taokaka remains a highly-mobile warrior who can catch the opponent off-guard with overheads and quick cross-ups. Montréal’s Henri “Chi-Rithy” Oung has been long known as one of Canada’s best players, dating back to a tournament win over legendary Justin Wong in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike at Northeast Championships. Fast forward to now, and not much has changed, with just over the past weekend Oung securing a roster spot on Georges St. Pierre’s Grizzlys esports team.
Prior to his sponsorship, Chi-Rithy sat down with BornFree at Canada Cup 2017 to discuss his time in the scene. He also discussed his switch from Chun-Li to Karin in Street Fighter V, calling the characters similar, outside of fireballs. He also discussed his hope that Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will bring more Japanese players into the game with a move to arcade cabinets.
Revealed during one of Square Enix’s regular Dissidia livestreams, the dark wizard Golbez has been announced as the latest character to join the Dissidia Final Fantasy Arcade roster.
Golbez is a powerful spellcaster who excels at keeping opponents out with his various magic attacks. While many of Golbez’ spells are slow-moving energy orbs, his impressive speed allows him to pepper the screen with these projectiles and trap his opponent in a corner. In a change from his Dissidia 012 incarnation, Golbez’ Shadow Dragon fights alongside him at all times, even assisting the wizard during certain attacks.
Golbez will be added to the arcade version of Dissidia later this month, so expect the dark moon mage to be present in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT when it launches January 30th. Square Enix are also adding a new stage as part of this arcade update — the Stellar Fulcrum from Final Fantasy XI.
Expect more character announcements and news during Square Enix’s special 2nd anniversary livestream for Dissidia, happening on November 26th.
NCSoft has revealed yet another mobile Lineage II game in the pithily titled Lineage II M. The announcement was made via a new cinematic trailer that was spotted and recorded by Korean games site “ThisIsGame”. In addition, the team got their hands on a demo of Lineage II M and recorded some gameplay footage.
Since the vast majority of stages in Tekken 7 have walls, having a strong wake-up game off of corner positioning dramatically increases your value as a character. A solid wall game is, after all, one of the primary reasons Leo has inspired fearin so manyplayers.
While we’ve seen some disgusting back-turned tech traps in the past for Jin, omgitsnewton‘s latest video shows off the power of using Zenshin Stance mix-ups off wall splats instead of going for raw damage. These mix-ups are terrifying because of the combination of using WS1,2, which plants the opponent back on the ground and limits their get up options.
For folks who love both raw denim jeans and the original Street Fighter II, here’s some interesting news for you. Canadian raw denim brand Naked & Famous is collaborating with Capcom to release a new line of Street Fighter II-themed jeans.
The Street Fighter II X Naked & Famous jeans, which are made from raw denim fabrics from Japan, come in either Ryu and Guile variants, and include various subtle character details, including weft and selvedge edges that match the color of their specific projectiles, embossed leather patches, embroidered projectiles, and more.
In addition to these, the trailer for the jeans — which you can see below — seems to hint at more character jeans coming in the future.
The Street Fighter II X Naked & Famous raw denim jeans come in different fits, from regular to super skinny. They will be available at Naked & Famous retailers worldwide, starting in November.
While the game itself is still a couple of months away from release, that hasn’t stopped Bandai Namco from holding pre-release tournaments for Dragon Ball FighterZ. Such was the case at the recent Paris Games Week, where a tournament was held for the game in cooperation with the PlayStation League.
For those who weren’t able to catch the tournament live on Twitch, ShonenGameZ has now uploaded the footage from the event. The footage below features players from the region such as RnK’s xOver, Gwak.fr’s Sylvius and Baykou, Frionel, Cuongster, and many more.
X-Kira continues to datamine more of the content that will (probably) eventually be coming to Street Fighter V. In his latest report, he notes that the Union Station, Hillside Plaza, Lair of the Four Kings and Apprentice Alley will soon be receiving stage variations, with the “Setting 1” option that can be seen in several other arenas. These variations will remove several of the background NPCs, along with minor alterations to the battlefield — such as replacing F.A.N.G’s statue in the Lair with Sagat’s, which can currently only be seen in the Ngguhao leader’s Character Story. Though these variations currently exist within the game’s cinematic General Story Mode, it appears that they will finally be added to the in-game Shop for purchase and use in regular matches. He further claims that one of these stages is linked to the General Story Volume 2 script.
X-Kira also notes in the video description that “other DLC stages will have variations in their future, night versions, afternoon and gimmicks alike.” He also revealed that Capcom will seemingly be implementing the long-requested feature to request a change to your Fighter ID, which once set is currently permanently tied to your in-game CFN Profile. To close out the video, X-Kira notes that soon, every stage in the game will have a stage K.O. animation, and the stages for Rainbow Mika and F.A.N.G — based off the backgrounds of their official artwork — will also be arriving imminently. He also displays the official CFN renders for the Red Bull-themed costumes that are part of the 30th Anniversary celebration. You can see the full video below.
In another video, X-Kira also gave us a look at the colors of each Red Bull costume in-game (for those who still want a better look at them before going out and grabbing cans) at the 9:15 mark. These special outfits are the 16 “Set73” costumes mentioned in a previous report.
But it doesn’t end there. X-Kira has discovered a new series of incomplete Volume 3 Trials that will likely launch with Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition in January — as two of the four utilize Zeku’s currently-unavailable second V-Trigger — and will likely pull from some of the upcoming balance adjustments that will be made to the cast in the new year.
He’s also revealed some more things on Twitter, noting that R. Mika’s tag team partner Nadeshiko will finally be receiving some alternate costumes of her own next year with AE, but he’s currently unsure if they will be sold separately or bundled with Mika’s Premium Costumes. He also states that we’ll be seeing Sagat and Sakura as the first two Legacy characters of Season 3, along with the female member of Neo Shadaloo (seen briefly in Ed’s Character Story) arriving as the first new challenger. He also recently posted Cody’s Super Street Fighter IV theme to his YouTube Channel, implying he might be joining the fray as well…
Finally, X-Kira notes that we shouldn’t trust the silhouettes that will be shown to us at the PlayStation Experience in December, as Capcom has given the fighters a visual makeover for their default attires.
