It’s no wonder why top Tekken 7 players like Knee and Mr. Naps have always kept a strong Bryan Fury up their sleeves. Besides embodying the high-level Tekken maniac we all aspire to be, he’s got an arsenal of hard-hitting moves to back up his sadistic persona.
Personality disorders aside, Bryan’s moveset strikes a nice balance between the technical and the accessible, which is to say: he’s relatively easy to pick up, but you’ll have to put a little more work in to get damage that’s on par with one of the Mishimas. Here to get you there is HurtboxTV, who has graciously given Bryan Fury the combo breakdown treatment for your studying convenience.
If you’re an avid watcher of upper tier Tekken play, many of these strings will definitely look familiar, and any prospective Bryan main will surely benefit from having them broken down. Check out the combo breakdown below, and if you find it helpful, check out HurtboxTV’s Steve Fox combo breakdown as well.
Gamescom is upon us and Capcom has now given us the official trailer for Jedah, Dormammu, Firebrand, and Ghost Rider in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Of course, while a trailer is nice, actual gameplay is even better. Thankfully, IGN was able to capture some matches featuring these four.
The videos below specifically show teams with these four characters in actual matches. This gives us a glimpse of how these characters have changed (such as Dormammu now being able to spell cancel) since the last time we saw them in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, or in Jedah’s case, Vampire Savior.
Additionally, one of the videos also shows some footage with the Soul Stone in use.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite launches on September 19 for PlayStation 4, XBox One, and PC.
The Ultimates Monster Pack has finally arrived today, free of charge for all Killer Instinct players. Providing Ultimates for Mira, Aganos, Saberwulf, Hisako, and Glacius. Iron Galaxy celebrated yesterday by releasing video of the ice extraterrestrial’s new finisher — which you can see below.
Beginning by summoning giant ice balls in both of his hands, Glacius uses them like boxing gloves to punch his opponent, before smashing them together to knock back his foe. He then pounds the ground, leaving a trail of ice and summoning an ice clone to juggle the victim — then summoning a bed of black icicles, which impale the opponent as they fall into them. The camera then zooms in on a victorious Glacius, who begins to frost up the edges of the screen.
Did you enjoy this latest Ultimate, or did you think it was a bit too censored for Glacius? Tell us in the comments below. You can see the other Ultimates included in the Ultimates Monster Pack below. Killer Instinct is now available for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, with a future Steam release forthcoming.
Nintendo has been proactive in updating ARMS, and just released more information at Gamescom following the teaser that was released earlier in the month.
Arriving soon to the game is a new character, named Lola Pop. She is a clown who is her own inflatable balloon animal. When she inflates, she can use the balloon for defensive options, as shown in the trailer.
While there is no actual date of release for the character yet — Nintendo says “soon” — she will be released with the version 3 update.
As with the previous Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite footage Maximilian has uploaded from his time visiting Capcom at Gamescom, the video below features matches from the Gamescom build, but without any “new” characters shown at the event. That said, the video does showcase some characters who we haven’t seen much of in other videos. So anyone looking to see Arthur’s improved ground game, or Ryu’s grown man damage, should give the video below a watch.
With Gamescom now in swing, stay locked on to Shoryuken for more footage of the game.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 19.
Pokkén Tournament DX is one month away! Those interested in jumping into DX, even though they bypassed the original Wii U release, are going to have a much easier time learning the game for one very big reason: when the first version was released, players hadn’t figured out how Pokkén implemented frame data.
Mitchel’s frame data video, and its corresponding link to the frame data itself, is a great example of how the surface simplicity of Pokkén masks a dizzying world of depth. Pokkén’s frame data is easy to pick up because there’s very few numbers you have to memorize. A quick perusal through the move lists shows you’ll almost always be punishing with only one of 2 or 3 moves on block, because Namco specifically designed the game’s move speeds to be uniform in nature.
Once you have a grasp on the way Pokkén’s compartmentalized frame data works, you’ll have no problem working your way up the ranks of DX.
The leaks and predictions were indeed true. As promised before the show, Capcom have released a new gameplay trailer for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, showing not only Firebrand, Jedah, Ghost Rider, and Dormmamu, but the power of the Soul Stone.
The Soul Stone revolves around taking and giving life, with its Infinity Surge stealing life from the opponent and its Infinity Storm acting similar to the Duo Team Attack from the original Marvel vs. Capcom. Upon activating the Infinity Storm, you take control of both characters simultaneously, regardless of whether one has been KOed or not. If your partner had been down prior to the Infinity Storm activation though, they will be revived with a sliver of health once the Storm subsides.
Mark my words, there are going to be some mega-cheap setups coming from the Soul Stone’s Infinity Storm once players get their hands on the Gamescom build of MvC:I. Expect plenty of tech videos, matches and combo showcases coming out of Gamescom, so get your theorycrafting hats on.
The Gamescom doors are now open and we’ve been flooded with new Dragon Ball FighterZ news. From a release date, news of an open beta as well as pictures of its collector’s edition, there’s a lot to digest from this Super Saiyan info blowout.
First off, Dragon Ball FighterZ‘s release date. According to Bandai Namco, DBFZ is coming in February 2018 with an open beta coming in January. If you want to get early access to the open beta, you can pre-order either the Standard or CollectorZ Edition of Dragon Ball FighterZ. The CollectorZ Edition comes with:
A special DBFZ steelbook
Three art boards
A 18cm diorama of Goku going Super Saiyan
A copy of Dragon Ball FighterZ
Pre-orders of either edition will net players access to two exclusive Lobby avatars, early open beta access and most importantly, the early unlock of Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta. By the sounds of it, these two characters will not be available as soon as you boot up Dragon Ball FighterZ, but will probably require you to finish the game’s Story Mode in order to play them. Arc System Works has done this in the past — locking Sin Kiske behind the original Guilty Gear Xrd’s Story Mode — but don’t worry about forking over some additional Zenny to play as SSB Goku or Vegeta.
Speaking of Story Mode, we’ve gained more insight into what actually happens in this special “what-if” scenario. It involves the resurrection of Android 16 and an invasion of Earth by cloned versions of the Z-Warriors. As Goku and pals fight off this wave of zombified clones, some of the Z-Warriors begin to succumb to the clone army. It looks ridiculous but that’s just what you want from a Dragon Ball Story Mode.
As for the closed beta, registration is today, with Bandai Namco promising 11 playable fighters in the build. They are:
Goku
Vegeta
Gohan
Piccolo
Future Trunks
Krillin
Cell
Freeza
Buu
Android 18
Android 16
European PlayStation 4 players can sign up via this link, US PS4 users can sign up using this link while Xbox One players will be picked via the Xbox Insider Program. The beta will run between September 16th-17th over four 3-hour slots, with start times differing based on your region. For up-to-date info on the start times for your area, information, check out your regional Bandai Namco Twitter account.
The last bit of news is that following Gamescom’s official Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament on Friday, there is set to be a “special announcement”, so tune in to see what it could be. More characters perhaps?
You know Christie Monteiro as the capoeira companion of Eddy Gordo in the Tekken series, but what do you know of her own origin? What’s her connection to Eddy? What causes her to enter the King of Iron Fist Tournament? Whose funeral was she attending at the end of Tekken 6, and did Eddy deserve that slap to the face? Just for kicks, History of the Warrior answers these questions and more in their latest video.
Though the primary function of Christie’s backstory seems to be to explain the mysterious disappearance of Eddy Gordo in Tekken 4, parts of her backstory reveal that she could possible succeed Eddie as Tekken’s resident capo. Check out the video below to see for yourself, and click here for more combative origins from History Behind the Warrior.

One player that is adding another option to YouTube is 2012 Tournament of Legends champion MAO, who has been uploading first-to-five sets among top players in Japan.
