Jae Min Bae, known better within the FGC as “Knee”, is one of  the most celebrated and successful Tekken players of all time. Turns out, the Korean pro is also a dedicated commentator and organizer.

In conjunction with the famous Tekken hub Green Arcade, Knee hosted and commentated nearly 4 hours of an excellent Korean 2v2 team tournament, named “Tekken Stars”. If you’re looking for the very best play to take notes on before June 2nd, this is a great place to start.

Even if you’re familiar with Rock Howard’s Capcom VS. SNK 2 and Garou: Mark of the Wolves appearances, the son of Geese Howard brings a lot more to the table in King of Fighters XIV. With a decent range of new and improved tricks up his sleeves, it can be difficult to pick up a fighter like Rock and know just where to start.

Thankfully this combo guide from Coliflowerz lays out a few paths one can take that can lead your opponents to a true South Town beatdown. The video shows the advantages that several different combo-starting moves have and proceeds to demonstrate some of the combos stemming from them. With off-the-ground attacks, wall bounces, and different levels of counters available, you can expect to utilize the whole stage while learning these.

Before a certain blonde haired swordsman came onto the scene, everyone’s favorite cloud was the smiling one that appeared on Yoshi’s Story. Named Randall by the Melee community, this smiling cloud has been the savior to many players trying to recover back to the stage. In their latest video and with the help of SoCal player CDK, SSBM Tutorials have made a video which tells players everything they need to know about Randall.

The main thing to know is that Randall’s position on the stage is not random. Randall will appear on either side of Yoshi’s Story based on the in-game timer. If the ten second portion of the timer is even, Randall will be on the left and if it is odd, he will be on the right. You can also tell if Randall is coming out or going into the stage based on the ones digit of the timer. Randall will emerge from the central platform at four seconds, with him then retreat back into the stage at nine seconds. With this knowledge, you should be able to know where Randall is during any match on Yoshi’s Story.

The rest of the video is devoted to how Randall causes some weird interactions with characters dangling off the ledge. You can perform some tricky manoeuvres if you time a smash just as Randall retreats back into the stage, so the whole video is worth a watch.

Turning to one of the more obscure characters in the Smash 4 roster, IzAw has made Olimar the subject of his latest “Art of” character guide. First appearing in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Olimar fights alongside his Pikmin, a species of plant-like aliens who follow his every command. As he requires good micromanagement skills to be played effectively and is one of the lightest characters in the game, Olimar is rarely seen in tournament. However, the ones you do see are often deadly, with players like RNG|Dabuz and Shuton using the miniature space captain to great effect.

By keeping control of your Pikmin line-up, Olimar can quickly shift from defense to offense by cycling between his troops. His small stature makes him hard to hit and he can easily weave out of danger with his decent ground speed. However, his predictable recovery and low weight mean that he dies very quickly when caught out of position. When an Olimar player is playing well, they can completely control the flow of the match, thanks to his huge hitboxes, great grab game and fast acting normals. If an opponent is able to get in his face and deny Pikmin pulls, he will struggle.

One of the big stories to come out of TBS’s Street Fighter V ELEAGUE this past week was the performance of Daigo Umehara. While “The Beast” seemed to have trouble finding his groove during Street Fighter V’s early life, up until the start of season two, he seemed to have found it at ELEAGUE, having switched to Guile and putting on some amazing performances against the likes of HM|Eita and ZW|Gamerbee.

Daigo’s resurgence is the subject of this latest installment of Yahoo Esports’ Conversations and Fireballs. Here, Host Michael Martin and guest Reepal “Rip” Parbhoo discuss Daigo’s improved at the event, including his return to Guile (who he also played in Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Super Street Fighter IV).

Of course, this is just one of the topics related to ELEAGUE that they discuss. With Rip being one of the commentators at ELEAGUE, they naturally talk about the state of fighting game commentary as well. Additionally, they talk a bit about competitive Tekken since that the series that Rip is known for playing.
