Falco has always been one of the strongest characters in Super Smash Bros. Melee, sharing many of the similarities to Fox and what makes him dominant, while having enough differences to still make him unique. However, there are a certain number of things that cost many Falco players their matches.

In this video, Kira goes over the seven deadly sins of Falco mains. These mistakes essentially boil down to predictability–which allows for easy punishes, but are so prevalent that you will see nearly every Falco player make them match by match.

Hibiki has some amazing mixup options in BlazBlue: Central Fiction, but nothing is scarier than his mixups off of DP. The move, when combined with Rapid Cancel, provides for some very dangerous mixup situations.

Here, we have a video from Monarch that showcases these options in a tutorial format. It not only goes over the more obvious mixup options off the Rapid Cancel–which are admittedly freeform–but also shows you how much more dangerous Hibiki can be if you simply delay the mixup off the cancel.

More than a few players have lauded the return of the Player’s Choice vote for Evo 2017. They welcome the chance for smaller games’ communities to express their passion and get their game into Evo, while also being able to support charity.

One person who isn’t singing praises is Yahoo Esports’ Michael Martin. While helping contribute to charity is good (and is something he praises), the big thing that Martin is concerned about is how the vote tends to pit communities against each other. Players have already been active around the internet and social media talking about how their games are better or more deserving than the other choices, and Martin thinks that this really isn’t a good look for the community.

With Cammy coming out pretty strong from Street Fighter V Season 2’s balance changes, many folks are looking to see top Cammy players really shine with her. One such player is Korean Cammy wizard Verloren, who first made a splash last year after winning the PlayStation 4 Asia Amateur Tournament at South East Asia Major 2016.

Verloren is the subject of this highlight reel from Vice. In the video below, we catch a glimpse of him absolutely dominating with season 2’s strong Cammy, showing some sick reads, clutch plays, and insane reactions–demonstrating why he’s currently sitting near the top 1o of the game’s online leaderboard.

One of Akuma’s biggest strengths is setting up mixups into huge damage. It has been for the longest time, and Street Fighter V is no exception.

Akuma has quite a number of options off a forward throw–each one of them useful, while having drawbacks. Fortunately for everyone, KS Tali is put together a solid video displaying all of Akuma’s options off of a forward throw. He also shows the upside and downsides to each option–which could be equally useful to Akuma and his opponents alike.

Combos in Guilty Gear and other airdash-style fighters are very finicky beasts. This is particularly true if you are coming to the series with a background in a game such as Street Fighter. The latter game has a very linear approach to combos, where you only have to check your range to an extent and whether the hit confirm is a counter hit or not.

There are far more variables to consider within Guilty Gear, such as your air trajectory as well as spacing, whether the move is a counter hit, or even whether both hits of a normal connects. It is for this reason that the Street Fighter Guide to Guilty Gear is exploring the difference between the combo systems in the two games, in the next part of their tutorial series.

King of Fighters fans have a lot to be excited about lately, between the announcement of KOF XIV’s inclusion on the EVO 2017 stage, and SNK regularly patching their latest fighter with costumes, balance updates and bug fixes… there’s a lot to occupy oneself with. Though this is the case, there are still a lot of people who enjoy KOF’s prior entry.

Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is facing quite the revival since its re-release onto the PlayStation 4, and the results of the game are getting shaken up in big ways. There were a lot of heavy hitters at Frosty Faustings IX, including two former world champions in EG|NYChrisG and Kane Blue River. Ultimately–however–neither one of them were able to finish the job, leaving RyanLV’s unique team of Chun-Li, Morrigan, and Phoenix to come out on top.

HyperX’s Daigo Umehara has yet to attend an event this year, and still has a lot of eyes on him so far in Season 2. Between his finish in 2016 and his adventures in character attempts so far, people are wondering how he will do on the circuit.

And when facing one of the best Rashids in Japan’s Gachikun, you can see that Umehara is still adjusting, but still playing a high level. This first-to-5 set shows both players going all out with the best of their respective characters.
