How Does the Razer Panthera Compare against Other Sticks? IPlayWinner Performed Lag Tests

The Razer Panthera seems to be the best stick that Razer has put out on the market yet. It appears the company has learned from their past mistakes, and have started to put together a quality stick that should last a long time.

But how is the input latency on this stick compared to others on the market? IPlayWinner did a lag test between arcade sticks. Using The King of Fighters XIV, they performed input tests by wiring up a button to the same input on two different sticks, then pressed the button to get what should be simultaneous inputs. A perfect test would consist of nothing but trades.

Based on their findings, however, the stick lagged slightly behind the Mad Catz TE 2 and the Qanba Crystal. It was also well behind the Brook Universal Fighting Board. While being slightly ahead of the Hori V3 Pro in Legacy Mode, it was well ahead of the same stick using the Brook converter.

[SRK’s own d3v has also conducted this test with a single Mad Catz model in his review of the Panthera; IPW’s results appear consistent with his. – Editor]

Check Out Some More Combos for Urien (& Friends) in Street Fighter V

More of Urien’s Season 2 power on display.

One of Street Fighter V’s latest threats, Urien is gaining a reputation for being a serious contender for the upper tiers in SFV–at least, he is after the Season 2 update. His potential for dominating the match and dealing serious damage through elaborate–and frankly, a little scary–combos is greater than ever!

HapkidoRed has been playing around with Urien since before the Season 2 changes, and continues to upload videos showcasing what the tyrant is capable of. He’s also dabbled a bit in two other SFV villians–namely Akuma and M. Bison–and thrown some of that in for fun as well. Here’s his latest offerings.

Play Dirty with These Combos, Setups, and Loops for Ryu in Street Fighter V

“If it’s to win, anything goes.”

Is Ryu the most “honest” character? His style of play is perhaps the most basic in Street Fighter V, seeing as Ryu is essentially the default template of Street Fighter in general. But with the tools he has available, there’s still quite a lot of room for individual style.

WuahWuahMan presents this collection of Ryu setups, loops, and combos–including a fullscreen-length Critical Art combo off a regular fireball. When it comes down to it, these aren’t really dirty tactics, no more than any frame trap is–but considering Ryu is often viewed as the most predictable opponent, maybe having a few tricks up your sleeve won’t hurt!

New Trish Infinite Discovered in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is beginning to look a lot like a modern edition of X-Men vs. Street Fighter. Having been hailed as a game aimed to make Marvel more accessible to newer players, it is showing a lot deeper tech–and with such, comes a ton of infinites.

Wolverine Master has found and is now showing off a infinite for Trish within the game. This combo–like all other infinite combos discovered–requires usage of  the Team Aerial Combo mechanic, and uses Trish’s double jump to set it up.

Chun-Li Doesn’t Need Meter with This 473-Damage Crush Counter V-Trigger Combo in Street Fighter V

With the changes made to her in Season 2, we’ve seen something of a drop-off of players using Chun-Li. That said, despite the changes she’s still actually a dangerous character in the right hands.

One of the things that makes her dangerous is her damage output, especially with V-Trigger. This damage output is put fully on display with this optimized crush counter combo from Magikarp (using V-Trigger) that does a whopping 473 damage and 685 stun.

Now, while it is a corner-only combo, it’s still very practical since it mostly involves just juggling her opponent with standing roundhouse kicks. Additionally, since it ends with her Lightning Legs, it may be possible to tack on more damage at the end by cancelling it into her Critical Art.

Breaking Down the New Injustice 2 Trailer: Who’s Restraining Superman, Which Robin was That, and What Are the Factions?

The latest Injustice 2 trailer was a very big reveal, announcing Poison Ivy to the cast while also giving us a peek at Brainiac and some major story elements. Similar trailers were given to us for the first Injustice game.

This breakdown video by TrueUnderDawgGaming looks more closely at different shots of the trailer, and what they could mean for the overall story. They cover things like the opening Superman shot, and how the Superman from this Injustice universe is actually immune to Kryptonite and Red Sun radiation, which makes it particularly interesting how he is actually being restrained.

One point glossed over is the shot with Batman and Robin. He suggests Robin is training with Batman, but their expressions and the looming Superman make it seem more like they are fighting than training, with Superman forcing them to fight, maybe. There is also the question of which Robin is in this shot: Dick Grayson, the Robin now usually known as Nightwing, was killed before the events of the first Injustice by Damien Wayne–Batman’s son–who takes up Nightwing’s mantle in that game.

This either means that Damien is now wearing a Robin costume–maybe he even gets a redemption and he is assisting Batman–or more likely, one of Batman’s other Robins has returned. Jason Todd was the Robin that was murdered by Joker and later resurrected, who operates as Red Hood, which would make an interesting story component–but it could also be Tim Drake. Tim does appear in the Arkham Asylum games with a similar hood as the Robin in the trailer, so he probably make the most sense. It could also be a new Robin, or one from another universe, or even a resurrected Dick Grayson, but Tim Drake is the strongest bet here.
