Yukadon Starts Seeing Other People: Tries Out Ibuki Online in Street Fighter V

Youdeal’s Yukadon is well-known as the best Nash in Japan–and quite possibly the world–right now. Having made 3rd at Evolution 2016, followed by 7th at Capcom Cup 2016, it’s hard to argue.

But it now appears that he, like many of his peers, are starting to wonder if the grass is greener on the other side of the character select screen (post Season 2’s patch). As such, we’ve seen Yukadon start to throw out Ibuki online. How does he stack up with the character? Find out now!

James Chen Offers “Delayed Hyper Commentary” for the ASW FGA 2016 Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- Tournament Qualifier

In his coined Delayed Hyper Commentary series, James Chen takes past footage of overseas tournaments or otherwise rare matches and gives commentary for them in real time. The subject material for Chen’s latest DHC is the stream for the Arc System Work’s Fighting Game Awards 2016 tournament qualifier that took place in Kansai, Japan very recently. The Kansai qualification event is one of the last of it’s kind before the real tournament takes place on January 14th.

James Chen expresses his appreciation for Guilty Gear, and says he plans to use his channel to highlight activity of the Guilty Gear scene in the future. Though he says that his Guilty Gear commentary isn’t on par with his Street Fighter commentary, fans that only know him for the latter might be impressed with his familiarity with Guilty Gear’s characters and mechanics.

You can watch his latest Delayed Hyper Commentary in the playlist below.

Go Bananas with These Underused Techniques for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U’s Diddy Kong

Diddy Kong has had a tumultuous time in Smash 4. At one point, the best character in the game without question; changes, nerfs and DLC have seen him settle into the position of “strong but not broken.” He’s still a beast in the neutral, and has some of the best results around, but he’s no longer the overwhelming presence he was on release.

Zinoto, one of Diddy’s leading practitioners and Michigan’s number one player, has decided that it’s time to change that. He’s released a video explaining some of the most underused techniques that Diddy Kong has at his disposal, including some advice on when to use them.

Whether you are an aspiring Diddy main, or just want to know what to watch out for, this video is well worth a look. At just under ten minutes, it’s comprehensive and fascinating, so grab your popcorn and your popguns and get ready to take some notes.

Japanese BlazBlue: Central Fiction Players Hold Chugoku vs. Shinjuku Regional Exhibition Matches

Exhibitions sets can be very exciting, especially against two evenly matched players. Crew battles add an extra dynamic, with the combination of high-level play and diverse playstyles/characters really great to see. We saw this just last weekend in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike with the Cooperation Cup, and now we’re seeing a similar team-based exhibition for BlazBlue: Central Fiction.

Shinjuku (with 43 players) vs. Chugoku (34 players) fight tooth and nail for nearly 5 hours, going back and forth and taking out each other’s fighters. Despite a 9-player difference between teams, we end up with a very close set showcasing just about every BB character on the roster. If you’re ready for this and have 5 hours to kill, then get comfortable, and grab yourself a snack and a drink–cause you’re gonna be here a while! The playlist for this exhibition is linked below.

The combo utilizes Devil Trigger twice, and then loops Million Carats over and over on Ryu. Note that the first part is to get Ryu cornered.

Evo 2016 Champ Infiltration Doesn’t Like Street Fighter V’s Season 2 Direction? Core-A-Gaming Interview Gets to the Heart of the Problem

Street Fighter V is probably the most heavily-criticized popular fighting game to have ever been released. Everyone–from news sites to fans to top players–have been discussing all the places the game has fallen down, between the shaky launch and the questionable design decisions: things like online problems, rootkits, quality-of-life issues (such as allowing player 2 to continue the match) and input lag, to name the hot topics. Through all of this criticism, many loyal fans are still enjoying the game, and were excited to see how the game would change with the new season.

Unfortunately, some players feel as though Season 2 isn’t being put together for them. SFV Evo 2016 Champion Infiltration sat down with Core-A-Gaming to talk about how he feels about the upcoming season. He starts off by lamenting Capcom’s decision to–in his words– throw away the hard work that people who loved Season 1 have put into the game over the past year, in favor of attracting new players. Infiltration does make it clear, however, that his criticisms of the state of SFV come from a “place of love” for Capcom and Street Fighter.

After getting his general concerns out of the way, he does go more into talking about the Season for what it is. He talks about characters he feels were buffed or nerfed, and also goes into his opinions on the invincible reversal changes, which mirror his opinion on the general direction of Season 2. He talks about a number of topics, like problems he had with the CPT–which he’s discussed before–so be sure to watch the whole interview.
