Mortal Kombat 11’s Version 1.06 update adds Easy Krushing Blows to Training Mode, addresses various bugs
Kombat League Season 1 begins June 18th!
Yesterday the Version 1.06 update went live for Mortal Kombat 11. Another minor update the game that focused more on squashing bugs and adding some quality-of-life improvements to the title as opposed to introducing balance changes. This patch most notably added an Easy Krushing Blow option to Training Options, allowing players to bypass the traditional conditional requirements to make it easier to lab out your combos without having to tediously set them up, as you would have to in a real match. Additionally, we have difficulty adjustments and increased rewards for Towers of Time, fixes to The Krypt, new Brutalities are available to be discovered, and bug fixes have been applied to various characters.
Most notably though, aside from Easy Krushing Blows and Erron Black receiving a bullet counter for his rifle, would be that we finally have information on the mysterious Kombat League, which you’ve no doubt seen advertised when battling online. The opening Season, “The Season Of Blood,” will begin on Tuesday, May 18th, the same day Shang Tsung begins his early access period. This will then disable Ranked Sets for the duration of the Season, which have now been reduced to FT2 affairs from the previous FT3 Sets.
You can see the full patch notes below as they were posted from r/MortalKombat, as well as a video from Rooflemonger visually displaying some of the more significant changes. The update is out now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The Hero from Dragon Quest and Banjo-Kazooie revealed as DLC characters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
The next characters in the Fighters Pass have been revealed!
Earlier today, Nintendo held their E3 Direct presentation, which provided us with a number of announcements of upcoming titles for the Switch, including the next two characters set to join Persona 5‘s Joker in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Fighters Pass.
First up, it was revealed that The Hero from Dragon Quest 11 will be “drawing near” the Smash battlefield. If more classic Dragon Quest heroes are your style, it appears that The Heroes from Dragon Quest 4 and 8, along with Erdrick, will also be included as alternate costumes.
In addition to swordplay, The Hero wields a unique gauge, allowing him to spend MP to cast various spells, such as Snooze, Sizzle, Psych Up, and Oomph, this allows him to put enemies to sleep, reflect projectiles, among other yet-to-be-revealed abilities. Their Final Smash sees all of the Dragon Quest Heroes assemble for an epic slashing of blades.
The Hero will be available as part of the Fighters Pass in Summer 2019.
But things didn’t stop there, as the Direct closed with another cinematic trailer. Following some trolling form Duck Hunt in a parallel to King K. Rool’s trailer, it was revealed that Rare’s beloved Banjo-Kazooie will also be joining the fray. This marks the first time that a third-party character owned by a rival company–in this case Microsoft–has been playable in Smash.
Able to fire eggs and utilize a fast run where Kazooie carries Banjo on her back, the duo will likely be very tricky opponents. Their DLC stage is Gruntilda’s Lair, featuring appearances by the infamous witch, as well as the Jinjos during Banjo-Kazooie’s Final Smash. Banjo-Kazooie will be released in Fall 2019. You can see Banjo-Kazooie’s trailer below.
