If you’re getting excited about the next World of Warcraft expansion, Battle for Azeroth, you’ll be interested to know that the second of three prequel comics has been released. Called “Magni the Speaker”, the comic deals with Magni Bronzebeard and his care for the soul of Azeroth after it is wounded by the fall of Sargeras’s sword in the final moments of Legion.
Blizzard has published the first in a series of three comics that will set the stage for the next World of Warcraft expansion, Battle for Azeroth. All are said to include major characters in BfA and that seems true. The first comic, “Reunion”, stars Jaina Proudmoore who has been absent since the earliest stages of the Legion expansion. It begins with Jaina “doing some soul searching in the ruins of Theramore” in the days before she decides to make a return to her homeland of Kul Tiras.
The World of Warcraft community site has been updated with a preview of the Drustvar zone that will be coming with the Battle for Azeroth expansion. Drustvar is part of the Alliance starting area on the island of Kul Tiras.
The BBC (via WoWhead) is reporting that a Romanian World of Warcraft player has been jailed for perpetrating DDoS attacks against Blizzard servers in 2010. According to the Department of State, the attacks were launched to against members of his own raid team over division of raid loot and for a spot on the raid team. Calin Mateias has been jailed in the US after being extradited last fall. He has been ordered to pay nearly $30,000 to Blizzard in restitution.
The Warcraft movie met with mixed reactions worldwide when it was released in 2016, but that doesn’t mean some of the props used by the actors aren’t simply droolworthy for diehard WoW and WC fans. Legendary will be auctioning off several items including the Stormwind job board, Alliance Knight Armor, Garona’s dagger and more.
In a pair of Twitter posts, Blizzard developers have informed World of Warcraft PvP players that all current Legion Prestige Levels will be rolled into a single cumulative total in Battle for Azeroth. Prestige Levels are currently earned through participation in PvP activities in Legion. For example, if a player has five characters at Prestige Level 2, in BfA, the player’s account will be Prestige Level 10. This provides a number of benefits including mounts, pets & toys.
Blizzard has rolled out a new World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth build that is paving the way for the future addition of War Mode, the open world “toggle-able” PvP experience coming with the expansion. Game designer ‘Phalanx’ has posted some brief facts about four different aspects of War Mode, including the brand new Bounty Hunting feature.

Both the Mag’har Orcs (Horde) and Dark Iron Dwarves (Alliance) are provided with contextual lore connecting them to each faction as well as a look at what classes each can be and what their racial traits are.
