Business Insider is reporting that Blizzard’s Chris Metzen, currently Senior Vice President of Story and Franchise Development, is retiring from gaming at only age 42. Metzen has been integral in the development of World of Warcraft and has worked on other titles in the company’s portfolio.

Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the World of Warcraft expansion, Legion, has scored big with over 3.3M copies sold. This number matches the all-time record numbers sold in previous expansions and the concurrent number of players experiencing Legion is the highest since the launch of Cataclysm in 2010.
World of Warcraft – Cooperative Effort Reveals World Boss Spawn for All
European and North American World of Warcraft players worked cooperatively to solve a puzzle that ultimately led to a Legion world boss spawn. Traveling throughout the Broken Isles, players discovered a series of orbs that, when placed in the correct order next to an NPC named Drak’Thul, spawned the world boss named Kosumoth in the Eye of Ashara zone.
