Raiden is officially coming to Injustice 2 next week

While Injustice 2 guest character Raiden has been available on Xbox One via an error since early this week, he’s yet to actually be released officially. Now however, we know when he’ll finally be released officially on all platforms, including PlayStation 4.

During the most recent Watchtower stream, NetherRealm Studios confirmed that Raiden will be officially released for Ultimate Edition owners this coming Tuesday, October 3. Meanwhile, everyone else will be able to play (or purchase) him on Friday, October 6.

Now while this is the first time that an official release date has been given for Raiden, his release was originally listed as October 10 in the Microsoft Store. This has led some to believe that NRS has pushed his release up for all platforms a week early in response to the early release on Xbox One.

Whatever the case may be, it seems that we’ll finally all get to see Earthrealm’s thunder god in action against DC characters next week. In the meantime, here’s a recording of Raiden’s breakdown by 16bit from the Watchtower stream.

Kuma’s taunt cancel has 100% tracking, shuts down step and tech roll escapes in Tekken 7

It looks like Bryan isn’t the only character you’ll see purposefully taunting in Tekken 7. As demonstrated by J-Katz, both of Tekken’s bears have the ability to cancel their taunts extremely early in the animation, thereby gaining tracking to anything they cancel into.

This is particularly practical in the neutral game, allowing you to quickly lock out common escape options. It’s also useful in wake-up situations, allowing you to realign your 50/50 mix-ups without having to worry about which way an opponent techs.

Leaked concept art of Sigma, Black Panther, Black Widow, Winter Soldier and Venom shows us how they may look in Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite

With the Monster Hunter receiving the first gameplay trailer at last weekend’s Tokyo Game Show, many are waiting with bated breath to see how Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite‘s other DLC characters will look in-game. Besides Sigma and Black Panther’s brief appearances in MvC:I’s Story Mode, we’re in the dark when it comes to Black Widow, Venom and the Winter Soldier.

However, that’s all changed thanks to Reddit user Futcharist, who posted an Imgur link to some leaked concept art showing off all the DLC characters. Based off the images, they are likely to be unlocked in the Collection Mode after completing an Arcade Mode run with each character.

We can see that Sigma and Black Panther look similar to their Story Mode appearances, with the diabolical Reploid being shown both with and without his cape. He will likely remove the cape during his pre-match introduction, similar to his fused counterpart Ultron Sigma. He wields his signature beam saber, which is not surprising seeing as Ultron Sigma also uses the energy sword in battle. Panther is also shown both with and without his cape, suggesting he may also remove it before a fight.

As for Venom, he retains his classical comic book appearance, strongly suggesting that the symbiote will once again be hosted by Eddie Brock, as was the case in his two previous appearances in the Versus series. Black Widow and Winter Soldier’s designs draw heavily upon their counterparts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where they are played by Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan respectively.

In addition to her dual pistols, Black Widow comes equipped with a pair of electric batons that will likely be used to stun her foes for combo extensions, or perhaps utilized a rekka chain similar to Injustice 2‘s Red Hood. Meanwhile, Winter Soldier brings his fair share of firearms, along with knives, his signature prosthetic arm, as well as a pair of grenades that will likely be used as either traps or zoning tools.
