If you’re one of the legions of fans who loves Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, today’s news should come as a pleasant surprise. CS:GO is now free to play and a new battle royale mode has been added to give players even MORE to love. The new battle royale map is called Danger Zone.
While team tournaments have long been a fixture of fighting game events, they have often been overshadowed by singles action — where an individual, rather than a group, takes the glory. But with events like Gfinity Series, Tekken Master Cup, and Cooperation Cup all getting a lot of attention lately, this could soon change.
Gerald Lee of Core-A Gaming discusses how he feels that the format creates a different atmosphere than singles competition. He also discusses the camaraderie the format builds in players’ mentalities, when they have to care about everyone else on their team.

Intrepid Studios has announced that its stand alone title, Ashes of Creation Apocalypse, will be launching into open beta on December 18th for Windows PC. Apocalypse is a standalone game for those who enjoy competitive play pitting themselves against other players. Apocalypse will feature a battle royale mode for up to 100 players duking it out to be the last one standing. Post-launch, Intrepid plans to launch a 200-player castle siege mode, co-op horde missions and much more.

The most recent update to Dragon Ball FighterZ made a number of changes to Vegito. These changes generally made pulling off damaging combos with him much easier. As a reaction to this, combo video wizard Final Showdown has returned to Vegito to see if he can create even more complicated combos for him.
The result is the video below, that demonstrates a plethora of combos that are, for the most part, impressive yet highly impractical. In addition to this, he’s also added some comparisons of various vanish setups.

Set once again to make his Bellator MMA debut will be Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, who will meet Roy Nelson this coming February in a rematch of their 2011 Ultimate Fighting Championship bout.
One player who hasn’t really been able to compete that much in the past few months, is Jonny “HumanBomb” Cheng. Now, we know the reason why: HumanBomb has announced over Twitter that he has parted ways with Primo Esports. Prior to this, he states that he had not been able to travel to compete over the past few month due to “complications with the contractual arrangement.”
The Hong Kong-based Primo Esports had previously acquired Forger Esports, the team that had been sponsoring HumanBomb prior to this. Whether or not the acquisition had anything to do with the aforementioned contractual complications is unknown. Because of his departure however, HumanBomb states that he will no longer be able to compete in the Last Chance Qualifier for Capcom Cup.
