The patch notes for The King of Fighter XIV’s Christmas update are now available

There’s a new patch out for The King of Fighters XIV for PlayStation 4 and PC. This latest patch is meant to adjust the balance of the game, focusing on character-specific tweaks. For those interested in how their characters have changed in the new patch, SNK has now released the patch notes for the update.

As is usual with patch notes for The King of Fighters XIV, this one is pretty huge at 25 pages long, too long to fit in this post, or any web page really: SNK has put it all in a downloadable PDF file. This is despite there being barely any system changes, save for the adjustment of the reversal window on  knockdown.

Regarding the character changes, in addition to the tweaks to their moves, character life values have also been adjusted. As for the characters themselves, it seems that aside from the expected nerfs, a number of characters have also received substantial buffs. It looks like SNK really wants to shake up the game’s meta with this update. You can check and download out the complete patch notes here.

Rising Up: Season 4 — Important changes for Zangief, Dhalsim, Rashid, Laura, and Necalli

Following the conclusion of this year’s Capcom Pro Tour, Capcom has released Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition’s newest character, “Kage,” along with a balance patch to give each character some new bells and whistles. This patch changes every character and addresses some of the most common complaints about Season 3 and 3.5. By popular demand, I’m continuing my series on ShoryukenTube where I analyze the Season 4 patch notes and describe how the changes will affect each character’s combos and playstyle going forward. While it’s critical to know your own character’s balance adjustments, you also benefit from knowing your opponent’s options against you.

This time, I’ve made videos describing the most important changes for Zangief, Dhalsim, Rashid, Laura, and Necalli:

If you missed my previous videos, check them out here:

And here’s the YouTube playlist for all characters so far, which I’ll update as I go.

I’ll be working my way through the roster in the same order as the in-game character list, so next time I hope to cover Necalli, Alex, Guile, Ibuki, and Balrog. Remember to subscribe to the ShoryukenTube YouTube channel so you don’t miss out!

Wizard101 – Bring on 2019

With all the eggnog now thoroughly sipped and Santa Claus back at the North Pole, it’s time to start thinking about what 2019 will hold. I know the Wizard101 community is still hoping for a 7th character slot and a renaming feature (among countless other things) as far as in-game additions go, but today I wanted to focus on my more personal 2019 game ambitions.

Next Escape from Tarkov Update to Include a New Location, Weapons & Equipment

Battlestate Games has sent out a brand new video to showcase some of the changes coming to Escape from Tarkov. Most notably, players will have the new Terragroup location to explore along with a number of new weapons and equipment, “Killa” scav boss and more. In addition, the team has promised a large number of bug fixes, technical improvements and feature enhancements.

Project BBQ is Nexon’s Next Online ARPG Built by Neople

Nexon has sent out a 3 minute teaser trailer for an upcoming “online 3D action RPG” called “Project BBQ”. The game is being built by Neople using the Unreal Engine 4. The developers should sound familiar as Neople is the same studio behind the wildly popular Dungeon Fighter Online. The video shows off a number of environments, “character’s skills and battle sequences”. You can’t miss the DFO feel coming from what is shown.
