Locations and dates of the final two Saga events of the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour have finally been revealed

The 6 and 7-Star Dragon Balls have been spotted in Japan and Australia!

Since the initial announcement of the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour, we’ve known about the first five of the seven Saga Events where players can battle for a Dragon Ball — which will allow them to qualify as a seeded player for the Finals in 2019 — but the final two have remained a mystery.

Recently, the curtain was finally lifted on the locations, dates, and events that will be the battlegrounds for the 6 and 7-Star Balls. While the 5-Star Dragon Ball will be on the line at this weekend’s SEA Major 2018 in Singapore, we now know that the following Saga Event will take place in Tokyo, Japan, as Japan Round will be held at the VR Zone Shinjuku on the weekend of November 24th and 25th.

Meanwhile, the 7th and final Saga Event will be hosted in the Oceania Region’s Melbourne, Australia at the inaugural CouchWarriors Crossup, in the suburb of Coburg North, Victoria, between December 15th and 16th; it will represent the absolute final chance to obtain seeding for the Finals in January 2019, aside from the “8th Saga” Last Chance Qualifier Tournament to be held at the Finals themselves. CouchWarriors Crossup is conformed to be receiving the customary $5,000 pot bonus for a Saga Event, but any bonus for the Japan Round is yet to be revealed.

With GGP|Kazunoko (CEO Champion), Echo Fox|SonicFox (VSFighting Champion), CO|GO1 (Ultimate Fighting Arena Champion), and NRG|HookGangGod (Thunderstruck Champion), already qualified, and a 5th player set to soon join them, the battles are guaranteed to grow even more intense as we inch closer to the Finals — and it will certainly be interning to witness it all play out before our eyes. You can see the confirmation tweets of these events below.

Registration for CouchWarriors Crossup — which will also feature tournaments for the newly-released Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (singles and doubles), Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[st], Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, SoulCalibur VI, Project M, Rivals of Aether, Super Smash Bros. Melee (singles and doubles), Injustice 2, Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat XL, and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle — is currently live at smash.gg. Registration for the Japan Round will likely be opened at a date closer to the event.

Witness some top Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite action with these replays of the Evo 2018 pools

The crossover title’s best “Battle Without Limits!”

Though its public perception hasn’t been the fondest over its first year of life, many players are still enjoying Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. And while it wasn’t afforded a spot on the event’s main stage, the community came together to throw a side tournament at Evo 2018 last August, ensuring that MAHVEL would still have a presence at the world’s largest fighting game tournament.

With 128 entrants spanning some of the most notable names in the tag-team brawler, such as Evo Japan Champion CJA|CyberJapanAgent, Macho, TLT|Tayson, TPC|Not Enough Damage, Noel Brown, Stealth, Cl0ckw0rk, Bv.YLT|Cole, Hitbox|Punisher, AsianDemon, Ketsui, NB|ADC Dual Kelvin, Teemo, Knives, NinjaNam, Airtola, G.X., LEV8D|IHeartJustice, and more, there was guaranteed to be some truly top-level play.

Though there was no official stream for the event, PsychoBlue was fortunately able to record the majority of the pools action, providing us with over 8 hours of great Marvel action, so if you’re still an enthusiast for the game, this footage is a much-watch. Go grab some snacks, sit back, and enjoy all the hype matches — with commentary from PsychoBlue and Jako Man — below.

You can also catch the top 4 of the tournament, which took place on the official Evo side stream, here.

More datamining from X-Kira hints at additional upcoming costumes, Dojo items, and more for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

Even more costumes, Dojo items, and Arcade Mode changes could be on the way!

After a long hiatus, notable Brazilian data miner X-Kira (a.k.a. Miyuki-Chan) has recently resumed his work of peering into the files of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, to see what upcoming additions and hidden surprises may be in-store for us. Recently, he unearthed files that indicate that more “Easter egg” variations could be coming to costumes that currently lack them — such as Ed’s Battle outfit — that could possibly be obtained via Menat’s Fighting Chance.

However, his findings don’t stop there, as after correctly predicting that the title would be receiving a Dojo mode over a year ago, X-Kira has seemingly found a new item for the customizable arena that will change the backdrop from a traditional martial arts training facility into a Capcom Wrestling Association (CWA) wrestling arena (another thing he hinted at long ago) though he is admittedly unsure if this will be obtainable via Fighting Chance, or it will be a paid or free DLC addition sold in the in-game Shop when/if it is released.

In regards to potentially upcoming Costumes, it appears that M. Bison will finally join the other three original Shadaloo Kings in receiving his classic duds, as X-Kira claims the Shadaloo dictator will expand his wardrobe with his original slim appearance and original black hair, from his Street Fighter II and Capcom vs. SNK days — likely as the next outfit in Fighting Chance, once Balrog’s “Mike-Like” costume campaign ends shortly.

Furthermore, X-Kira claims that Santa will be gifting the 2018 round of Christmas Holiday attires to the Season 3 quartet of Sakura, Blanka, Falke, and Cody, while Nash will be joining Cammy in acquiring his Cannon Spike outfit, on top of Juri and F.A.N.G getting new “Mech” attires. Cammy, Urien, and Kolin will also be getting outfits from “Sets 92-94” respectively, which will be newly-themed packs, all of which he claims will drop between October and December.

Looking ahead to 2019 and Season 4, X-Kira claims that M. Bison will be receiving another Nostalgic costume, returning him to the height of his Psycho Power with the larger, bulkier, look he sported in the Street Fighter Alpha and 2D Marvel vs. Capcom games. Birdie may be developing another sudden case of the illness that plagued him in the original Street Fighter, with a return to the nearly-unrecognizable pale-white skin we first knew him for; while the World Warrior himself Ryu, will be heading back to both the Street Fighter I and II days — complete with red shoes for the former — for his first taste of Nostalgic clothing. Abigail will also reportedly be getting his second post-launch outfit, as he joins rival Cody in returning to his Final Fight roots. He also mentions that the “Nguuhao Palace” and “The Ring” stages for F.A.N.G and R. Mika are “supported by the current client, but that does not guarantee that they will come this year.”

Next, X-Kira speaks of an expansion to the titular Arcade Mode, noting that NPC opponents will eventually be added to the ladder, such as Decapre challenging you in the Street Fighter IV path, with Juli appearing in the Street Fighter Alpha path, with some Dolls even showing up in the Street Fighter V ladder, depending on your chosen character. He also implies that a new interface could be in the works for the mode as well, and that Cyber Akuma from Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter could soon be challenging us in Extra Battle.

Finally, X-Kira has Tweeted pictures of Resident Evil’s Jill Valentine — in both her S.T.A.R.S. uniform and Resident Evil 3 attires — which he has noted will be another Crossover Costume for Cammy, as well as Albert Wesker — clad in both his original S.T.A.R.S. uniform, as well as his coatless attire from The Mercenaries: 3D. There are also images of Rival School’s Hinata Wakaba and the emblem of Taiyo High School, meaning we could possibly see Costumes from those franchises in the future… You can see all of X-Kira’s tweets about these developments below — but as always, remember to take everything with a grain of salt until it’s officially announced!

Feel free to share your thoughts on these potential developments in the comments section below!

History Behind the Warrior tries to predict SoulCalibur VI’s unrevealed DLC characters in latest video

In less than a month, we’ll be able to make a grand return to the Stage of History, with the release of Bandai Namco Entertainment’s much-anticipated SoulCalibur VI. Currently the game’s launch roster sits at 20 characters with the recent official reveals of Cervantes de Leon and Raphael Sorel. Though Hwang and Lizardman have both been spotted in recent gameplay footage, their roster fate is currently unknown. There is also the matter of the game’s Season Pass, which will contain four DLC characters, including the Day 1 bonus fighter Tira.

Taking all of this information into account, as well as an official character popularity poll that has largely influenced the makeup of the current cast, History Behind the Warrior attempts to predict which warriors could most likely fill those 3 remaining DLC slots, assigning them a personal chance rating of 1 to 5. You can catch the entire video below, and be sure to let us know which three characters you’d like to see join Tira in the Season Pass in the comments section below.

SoulCalibur VI will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam on Friday, October 19th.

The Eternal Flame of Soul Edge’s will reignites!

With the game’s release now less than a month away — as well as the 2018 Tokyo Game Show in full-swing — there has been an absolute massive amount of news and footage trickling out for Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Soul Calibur VI. While we’ve already seen the official reveals of Cervantes de Leon and Raphael Sorel, as well as a large amount of footage from pro players Kayane and Hayatei, another huge leak has apparently sprung: Inferno, the flaming physical embodiment of Soul Edge.

The series starting titular antagonist is reportedly obtainable after reaching Level 20 in the Soul Chronicle mode, taking up the currently-open slot in the middle of the character select screen between Sophia and Geralt, and will serve as the game’s Mimic character, who will battle with the styles of randomly-chosen fighters among the entire available cast by generating weapons from his body, just as he did back in Soul Calibur I.

YouTuber Dynasty speculates that, due to the text displayed upon acquiring him, that there could possibly be other “Bonus” characters, but that obviously remains to be seen. You can see the full video, as well as some images of Inferno on Twitter, below.

What do you think of this latest news? Are you excited to see the Classic Boss officially return to the Stage of History? Are you disappointed that he appears to be a Mimic character, ala Edge Master or Mokujin? Or are you hoping for some more secret unlockable characters that haven’t been revealed yet, when the game launches? Sound off in the Comments section.

Soul Calibur VI will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam PC on Friday, October 19th.

Earlier this month, the 2018 C3 Anime Festival Asia (AFA) Jakarta took place in Jakarta, Indonesia. BEASTAPAC and Game Start combined to create AFA Play, an event featuring several fighting game titles, held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE).

Most notably, the Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament at the event was part of the DBFZ 2018/2019 World Tour, serving as an Asian Dragon Radar Event — where the winner would, of course, be flown out to the Saga Event of their choosing to compete for a Dragon Ball and a spot in the World Tour Finals in 2019. However, the lineup of titles also included Tekken 7, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, and the upcoming SoulCalibur VI.
