Pick up some new characters in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle with Koefficient’s tutorials

The excitement for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle has been ramping up since its release last month, and with it recently overtaking Super Smash Bros. for Wii U as the current fifth-largest title at Evo 2018, it seems many players Can’t Escape from Crossing Fate.

In an attempt to provide aspiring players with a starting point for learning specific characters, BlazBlue YouTuber Koefficient has been steadily releasing characters tutorials for various cast members, with his latest focusing on Under Night In-Birth’s “Harvester of Greed,” Gordeau.

In the 26-minute guide, Koefficient fully covers all of Gordeau’s normals, specials, assists, Distortion Skills and Astral Heat, demonstrating various situations of each attack’s utility. He also discusses how best to play the Grim Reaper, his pros and cons, as well as suggesting possible teammates for him that could complement him. At the time of this writing he has also covered all four members of Team RWBY, as well as Hyde Kido and Orie, with the hopes of finishing the remaining cast members before the next round of DLC characters drop.

You can see the full playlist of character tutorials — as well as various FAQ videos on topics such as Reverse Beat, how to properly punish Ruby Rose’s Petal Burst Distortion Skill, as well as a look at what makes Hyde top tier — below.

Enjoy more SoulCalibur VI gameplay with Ketchup & Mustard’s exclusive footage from Bandai Namco UK

Recently, PND|Ketchup & Mustard were invited to the Bandai Namco Entertainment UK offices in London, England, to record some pre-release gameplay footage of the upcoming SoulCalibur VI. In total, they were able to capture five sets, mostly utilizing characters from the E3 build that they played for the first time. History Behind the Warrior was also on hand to participate.

First up, the Condiment Brothers square off with Ketchup playing Yoshimitsu — whom he would use for the majority of his games, save for a brief switch to Zasalamel, against Mustard’s Taki. We also get to see HBTW pilot Nightmare, Ivy, The Witcher’s Geralt of Rivia, and newcomer Grøh.

Though this may not be the absolute highest-level of polished SCVI action we’ve seen, it’s still fantastic to be able to enjoy over an hour of fresh footage with several new characters that haven’t gotten much exposure yet. You can enjoy the full sets of matches below.

SoulCalibur VI will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Friday, October 19th. There will also be an official side tournament at Evo 2018 on Friday, August 3rd. For even more UK footage, check out Silent Joel’s recent matches.

Bandai Namco Entertainment announces Dragon Radar Events as part of the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour

Bandai Namco Entertainment America made a big announcement concerning the currently-ongoing Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour: the addition of Dragon Radar events. These “specially selected offline events from around the world” will hold a spectacular prize for the victors: a free flight and hotel to any future Saga event of their choosing, or the Last Chance Qualifier for the Finals. This should allow even more Z Fighters from across the globe to get involved with the Tour, including some that may not have been able to make it out to the events on their own — especially with six of them being held in at least five different countries. You can see the announcement tweet below:

The full list of Dragon Radar events is said to be announced soon, so keep your browser locked here to Shoryuken as more information is made available. Already Canada Cup 2018 have revealed they will be one such event. Don’t forget the second Saga event is VSFighting 2018, from July 20th to the 22nd in Birmingham, England, where the 2-Star Dragon Ball will be on the line.

Glasses colors for the Persona 4 Arena characters have been spotted in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle’s color palette files

Could we see this cosmetic item appear in BBTAG in the future?

One of the unique aesthetic aspects of the Persona 4 Arena series — beyond being able to mix and match character and Persona colors — was the ability to purchase pairs of glasses to be worn in battle, (or some other form of face wear, such as goggles, masks or visors, depending on your character). This served as another bit of fan service in the RPG series, as the members of the Investigation Team would use them in Persona 4 to help them clearly see through the thick fog of the Midnight Channel. These would not only be visible on the character sprites during a match, but would also be added to the Awakening portraits of each fighter, as well as their artwork during Instant Kills.

Though this feature is currently absent for the Persona cast in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, evidence for it appears have been found by data miners, indicating that it was possibly planned at one point — or that it could eventually come to the game as future DLC. Twitter user SeGel2009 even notes that there are glasses colors for the new reference palettes, as well as the trio of DLC colors, for all characters. You can see each character’s full color assortment — with the corresponding glasses for reference — below.

Would you like to see glasses become available for the P4A cast in BBTAG? Sound off in the comments.

Relive the top 5 moments of CEO 2018 as chosen by Capcom Fighters

From hilarious entrances to breathtaking comebacks and upsets, this event had it all!

With CEO 2018 now in the history books, the Capcom Fighters YouTube Channel recently posted a quick video, as they often do, looking back at their Top 5 moments from the latest Capcom Pro Tour Premier Event for your viewing pleasure.

This event was one of the most stacked Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition brackets we’ve seen so far in the 2018 CPT Season, so there was plenty to enjoy both in and outside of the game. From some of the great top 8 entrances, such as NuckleDu channeling Kazuchika Okada to make it rain in Daytona Beach, or Panda Global Infiltration’s amazingly hilarious recreation of former European and Intercontinental Champion Val Venis’s iconic ring entrance, to IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega ejecting James Chen from the commentary table.

There was certainly a lot of entertaining activity going on. We also had the massive upset of Epsilon|Takamura taking out 2017 Evo Champion Echo Fox|Tokido in the Akuma mirror, Mousesports|Problem X’s destructive Abigail, the breathtaking Grand Finals between QANBA.DouyuTV|Xiao Hai and Fudoh|Fujimura and much more.

You can see the full video below.
