Unequalled Media’s Tyrant and Damascus duke it out in this Dragon Ball FighterZ first-to-3 set

Recently, Unequalled Media’s Tyrant, Damascus and several other top UK fighting game players were invited to the Bandai Namco Entertainment European offices to get their hands on the Gamescom build of Dragon Ball FighterZ. While there, UM|Tyrant and GXC|Damacus decided to battle in a first-to-three set after taking a few hours to understand the game’s characters and mechanics.

In this match, the two players choose the teams of Vegeta, Goku, and Piccolo, and Future Trunks, Android 18, and Teen Gohan. Though the two didn’t have a ton of time with the game, they’re still two of the United Kingdom’s top fighting game players and provided a nice taste of high-level play for those looking for more footage before the closed beta begins this weekend. You can see the set in its entirety below!

Dragon Ball FighterZ will be released in February 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam PC.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite character introductions: Hawkeye, Ultron, Zero, Haggar, Ghost Rider, & Arthur

The Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite character guides just keep coming from Unequalled Media and FingerCramp, as we continue to steadily approach Tuesday’s release. This next batch of six videos contains tutorials for Hawkeye, Ultron, Zero, the Mayor of New Metro City Mike Haggar, Ghost Rider, and Sir Arthur.

As usual, Capcom UK Community Manager Matt “The Street Writer” Edwards is back to provide a brief character overview and a breakdown of each of their special moves, Hyper combos and unique skills, such as Arthur being able to jump cancel each of his air specials. He closes by providing an Infinity Stone recommendation for each character, such as using the Power Stone’s ability to negate advancing guard to continue Ultron’s relentless drone pressure, giving Ghost Rider or Zero the Mind Stone to utilize several Hypers continuously, or equipping Hawkeye or Arthur with the Time Stone, which provides them with improved runaway games and powerful projectile loops when the Infinity Storm is activated. You can find all six videos below — which also provide a listen to each character’s new theme.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be released in North America and Europe on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam PC this Tuesday, September 19th. A Japanese release on the same platforms will follow on Thursday, September 21st. You can find the other two groups of tutorials released so far below. Don’t forget to also check out this basics tutorial from Sajam and Rip, as well as the first two episodes of UM|Tyrant’s MvC:I Beginner’s Guide, which covers Infinite’s new mechanics, as well as a detailed breakdown of the powers of the six Infinity Stones.

Grab a Senzu Bean and learn about Krillin in Dragon Ball FighterZ with Maximilian’s character breakdown

Rounding out his character breakdowns for the new characters introduced in the Gamescom build of Dragon Ball FighterZ, Maximilian takes a look at “Earth’s Strongest Warrior,” Krillin.

Noting that he was one of the more difficult characters to get a handle on in the limited time he had with the game — due to his stubby limbs and low damage output — Max feels that, much like in the anime, Krillin does possess a vast amount of hidden potential that will just take more time for players to grasp.

Max begins by going over his special moves, noting that his Afterimage Strike produces a clone that attacks with a leaping kick that goes various lengths depending on the strength used, that can be used to follow-up your attacks and continue applying pressure. Krillin can also hold the button down to make the afterimage vanish right before it lands with the attack, allowing Krillin to confuse his enemies reminiscent of the fake-outs he and Goku used in the original series, while he calls an assist or uses another special.

His double shot ki blasts can go in different directions, covering large amounts of space to supplement his zoner archetype, but they appear to be very sensitive and difficult to control, as they are mapped to various directional inputs and only utilize a single button. His Kamehameha has a unique property compared to the Saiyans and Perfect Cell, as he can hold up while charging it to fire the blast into the air. Currently, he is the only character in the cast with this ability.

His Senzu Bean special functions as an item throw, similar to Faust or Teddie, where Krillin will throw either a rock or a random Senzu Bean in one of three different trajectories. Senzu Beans heal about 20-25% of a player’s health, are extremely rare and limited, and can be picked up by your enemies, similar to Faust’s doughnuts or Teddie’s chocolate bars, so you’ll need to be careful when one drops. The rocks tend to behave in a similar fashion to Dudley’s rose, according to Max. Krillin’s final special, the Solar Flare, seems to have decent range, but stuns the opponent on contact, and could perhaps serve as his Reversal on wakeup

His Destructo Disc super is a fast, low-damage projectile, but can be changed into the Chain Destructo Disc Barrage by pressing any button during the attack — at the cost of up to five bars of meter — for a total of five Destucto Discs, allowing him to fill the screen with projectiles and end matches in style. His Level 3, the Split Energy Wave, has invincible startup and covers a large portion of the stage, granting him full-screen punishes; it can be used as a great fear tactic. You can see the full video below.

Maximilian is hopeful he can get breakdowns of Goku, Vegeta, Teen Gohan, Frieza, Perfect Cell and Majin Buu out before the closed beta goes live this weekend, as they will also be included in it. You can also see his breakdowns for Piccolo, Android 16 & Android 18, along with Future Trunks.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will be released in February 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam PC.

Enjoy more Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite character tutorials: Gamora, Chris Redfield, Spencer, Hulk, & Strider Hiryu

With Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite launching in a mere five days, the Marvel vs. Capcom YouTube channel continues to roll out more character tutorials with the help of Unequalled Media and FingerCramp. As always, Capcom UK Community Manger Matt “The Street Writer” Edwards returns to provide narration.

After covering Mega Man X, Ryu, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Morrigan, and Captain America in the initial batch, the subjects of today’s round are Gamora, Chris Redfield, Nathan “Rad” Spencer, Hulk, Dormammu, and Strider Hiryu.

As before, these videos provide a brief character introduction, before covering each of their special moves, unique skills — such as Chris’s Prone Position, Strider’s wall cling or Hulk’s new wall jump (the Avalanche Leap) — and Hyper combos. Each video also provides demonstrations of both basic and advanced combos for each character, before closing on an Infinity Stone recommendation, such as using the Mind Stone for Dormammu to have access to more Stalking Flares, or giving Strider Hiryu the Soul Stone to effectively increase his overall health pool, making him a bit less of a glass cannon.

You can see all six videos below, while also getting a chance to listen to their new character themes, though Chris’s has been inadvertently replaced with Nemesis’. You can also check out Japanese character trailers for Iron Man and Chris here and here respectively.

A new Japanese trailer has also dropped for Gamora:

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be released in North America and Europe this Tuesday, September 19th, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam PC. A Japanese release for the same platforms will follow two days later on Thursday, September 21st.

Bow before the glory of Lord Frieza in his Dragon Ball FighterZ character introduction video

Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe continues their series of character introduction trailers for the cast of the upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ, this time focusing on arguably the series most popular villain, (and my personal favorite) the tyrannical and sadistic Frieza.

As usual, this trailer highlights his intro animation, his incoming animation, as well as special attacks and supers, including his ki blasts, a grab that pays homage to way he killed Krillin, his Level 3 Golden Frieza transformation, and of course his Death Ball to once again wipe out that pesky Planet Namek. You can see the full trailer below.

Dragon Ball FigherZ will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam PC in both standard and CollectorZ editions. Pre-ordering will grant you early access to the title’s open beta test, as well as early unlocks for Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta and a pair of exclusive online lobby avatars. The closed beta is set to begin this weekend, running from September 16th to the 17th. You can see the previous character intros for Goku and Vegeta here.

Equip yourself to punch some boulders with Chris Redfield’s Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Japanese character trailer

With Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite now less than a week away from release, Capcom Japan continues to highlight members of the cast with small mini-trailers, the latest recipient of which is Chris Redfield. Like the Iron Man and Mega Man X trailers before it, this short video showcases some of Redfield’s returning special moves from Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, while simultaneously drawing attention to the fact that Chris must now reload his magnum, as it can only hold a maximum of three shots.

He then transitions into an Active Switch combo involving Ultron, before showing off his three Hyper combos, which are the returning Grenade Launcher, Sweep Combo, and his Level 3 Satellite Laser, which now has significantly increased startup and utility. We also get a look at his Character Select Screen artwork, in addition to the chance to hear his new theme, which is now a remixed version of “Assault Rifle” from Resident Evil 5. You can see the full trailer below.

Will you be playing this member of S.T.A.R.S. in Infinite? Let us know in the comments section.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be released on Tuesday, September 19th, in North America and Europe, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam PC. A Japanese release for the same platforms will follow on Thursday, September 21st.

Get ready for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite with these character introduction videos by Matt Edwards

The next chapter of Vs. series history is about to be written, as the highly-anticipated Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is just a week away from its release. To get players prepared to enter the battlefield, Capcom UK Community Manager Matt “The Street Writer” Edwards has begun to put together a series of character introduction videos for several cast members, in the vein of his past videos for Street Fighter V.

So far, Edwards has compiled videos for Mega Man X, Morrigan, Ryu, Iron Man, Captain America, and Captain Marvel, with videos for the other 24 fighters sure to be released in the coming days ahead (possibly in release order, as these were the first six characters to be revealed when the game was announced back in December at PlayStation Experience). These videos provide a very brief character introduction, along with a look at uses for each of their special moves and Hyper combos. Unique skills — such as X being able to combo his weapons into each other — are demonstrated, in addition to both a basic and advanced-level combo (complete with full notations) for players looking to try out each character.

Finally, Edwards makes a specific Infinity Stone recommendation to pair with each warrior before heading into battle, such as using the Mind Stone to provide X more attack variety (with its Surge being a stunning command grab, while the Infinity Storm provides him with a significant increase in Hyper combo meter to make more use of his Armor of Light).

We also get a look at each character victory animation, as well as a clear listen to their new Character Themes. You can see each video Edwards has released in the series below.

We also have a Japanese character trailer for X from the official CapcomChannel, similarly to the one they recently released for Iron Man, which also displays his official character artwork.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be released in North America and Europe next Tuesday, September 19th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. A Japanese release will follow on Thursday, September 21st, on the same platforms.

Episode 2 of UM|Tyrant’s Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Beginner Guide covers the power of the Infinity Stones

After recently creating an introductory guide to Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite‘s overall general concepts for beginning players, Unequalled Media’s Tyrant has dedicated the second episode to breaking down and fleshing out what is perhaps the game’s most ambitious new mechanic: the six Infinity Stones.

These six Cosmic Stones from Marvel lore imbue your team with a variety of different abilities in battle, that can be best be compared to somewhat of a customizable version of Street Fighter V‘s Variable System. You have access to an Infinity Surge that is usable at all times (similarly to a V-Skill) and a more powerful Infinity Storm, which is a timed ability that can only be activated once the Infinity Gauge is up to 50% or more — akin to a V-Trigger, or an Ultra Combo in the Street Fighter IV series.

After providing a brief demonstration of each of the Stone’s Surges and Storms, Tyrant notes that the Reality Stone’s elemental Storm projectiles can be controlled by the player: light punch will rapidly launch wind-based projectiles at your foe, while light kick will turn the floor into ice, freezing the opponent on contact and leaving them open for punishment, similarly to Kolin’s V-Trigger. Heavy punch will unleash fire streams that are good for starting or ending combos, and heavy kick will cause thunder to rain down on your enemies, providing enhanced zoning and mix-up opportunities of your choice.

Another interesting note of Tyrant’s is that if you activate the Soul Stone’s Infinity Storm to revive a fallen teammate for a second time in the same match, they will only return with a pixel of health, as opposed to the 20% or so they’ll receive on initial resurrection. Tyrant also recommends beginners to use the Power and/or Reality Stones, as they appear to be the easiest to utilize and understand in a quick period of time — whereas the others tend to provide more nuanced forms of assistance. Overall, Tyrant believes that players should base Stone choices on either improving their character’s traditional strengths, or for covering their default weaknesses. You can see his full video below.

Capcom Japan also released an individual trailer about the Power Stone, which has also been included below.

Stay tuned, as episode 3 of Tyrant’s series will provide an in-depth look at MVC:I‘s combo system.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be released this Tuesday, September 19th, in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam PC. A Japanese release will follow next Thursday, September 21st.
