Twin Galaxies interviews Punisher after his Kumite in Tennesse win in Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite

One of the bigger shocks that occurred at Kumite in Tennessee was New York player’s Gilbert “Punisher” Matos winning Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Given the field was stacked — requiring him even to double-jeopardy SonicFox to get the title — Punisher rose to the occasion, and beat him in a Rocket mirror which when he spoke to Twin Galaxies, he called “ugly.”

In the interview, he talks about how he has taken advantage of his usage of the Hit Box as a weapon of choice, as well as how he was able to compose himself after losing a 50 game set to Teemo the day before he flew out to Tennessee. He also had encouraging words for Marvel fans who want to keep the scene alive. Check out the full interview here.

Whip it good once again with these Whip combos for The King of Fighters 2002

Whip finally found her way into The King of Fighters XIV, but that doesn’t mean the world has forgotten about her previous work in other SNK fighters. Given her high tier status of yesteryear, many remember her fondly for her play in The King of Fighters 2002.

In this combo video, we are shown what she can do both meterless, and with varying amounts of bars up to the maximum of five. Either way, people are either getting whipped or getting shot — and seeing the entirety of their health drained, most of the time.

theScore showcases the intense rivalry between Armada and Mango at the Genesis tournament series

It’s very rare that two people find themselves pitted against each other across multiple majors, yet this is exactly what happened to Super Smash Bros. Melee players Mango and Armada. Up until Genesis 5, the American and the Swede always seemed to have their paths destined for Grand Finals, despite the odds of this happening repeatedly.

In this video from theScore, we see how their tournament paths crossed, and the circumstances surrounding each of them. It also shows how Armada has had the upper hand at the series, having beaten Mango 3-1 in Grand Finals sets.

Hit faster than the speed of light with this Flash combo video for Injustice 2

There are some combos that hit you, and then there are some that hit you before you even know they hit you. If we’re talking about the latter group, you know we have to be talking about The Flash in Injustice 2.

In this combo video, you see excellent usage of his Trait, which slows down the opponent making extending combos even easier, and a few amazing corner carries that can deal around 70% damage to one bar of health. You also see a couple of mix-ups which allow him to take an entire bar easily.

DeeDogg discusses Final Round 2018’s “clear bag” policy, and its effect on attendees

Security at events are ramping up to an all-time high. Especially in the age of 24-hour venues, majors now see a need to not only protect their patrons, but also protect their assets from potential theft. As such, Final Round 2018 has instituted a clear bag policy for this year, which will have its attendees carry all of their belongings inside of a clear bag. If you are unable to do this, you will have to carry your items in your hands, as there will be no other bag allowed inside the venue.

As DeeDogg explains, this creates a potential source of contention among players. As noted, players with larger joysticks — such as the Qanba Dragon or HORI VLX — are left out in the cold, as their joysticks are too large to fit inside the provided clear bags, yet too heavy to comfortably lug around under their arms. He also postulates that this will do very little to stem the tide of theft — but could potentially clear up other security issues.

Azrael gets ugly with his combo capabilities in Blazblue: Central Fiction

Blazblue: Central Fiction lends itself to some insane combos. Its diverse mechanical options lend to extending combos beyond the realm of practicality. Azrael is known for having longer combos that dole out a great deal of damage, and this particular combo video shows much of this.

From coast-to-coast combos, to corner combos that deal insane heaps of damage, it is no wonder that he is considered one of the more powerful characters in the game. You’ll also see a crazy combo with a confirm into Astral Finish to cap off the video.

BGCallisto provides more top 8 action from Frosty Faustings X

With all the hype from Frosty Faustings X, the two biggest games for the event were still Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, and Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2. The former game saw Mo-Joe stun everyone with his R. Mika play, while the latter — the highlight of every Frosty Faustings — saw the lone Japanese player in attendance, Teresa, not make a top 8 that saw last year’s runner-up BjornSonofBears capture the title.

But that’s not all you’ll find in these videos from BGCallisto. You’ll also see Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R and Ultra Street Fighter IV action, featuring the likes of Punk, Wolfkrone, Teemo, and Elvenshadow in the limelight.

Atlas Bear signs top Korean Street Fighter player Poongko

After a long free agency since his release from Team Secret, Chung-gon “Poongko” Lee has finally found a new esports team to hang his hat on. Joining stormKUBO, Kichipa-mu, and Gunfight, the Korean Street Fighter mainstay has signed with new Indonesian esports team Atlas Bear.

As their new representative, Poongko will first make his mark with the brand by competing in Evo Japan. Lee — who as recently as October 2017 was struggling to self-fund trips to tournaments — will likely see far more travel this year as he competes to find his way back to Capcom Cup, an event he has not been in since 2015.

Ash Crimson serves up a healthy dose of damage in this The King of Fighters XIII combo video

Ash Crimson has not been one of the most popular characters in The King of Fighters franchise, despite being the lead protagonist of The King of Fighters XII and The King of Fighters XIII. However, this unexplored character has some amazing combos that makes for an exciting combo video.

This video from Persona Entertainment shows off some amazing juggle potential — with at least one of the combos surpassing the maximum combo hit counter — and many of them resulting in 100% combos. Especially impressive is a combo that goes from coast to coast not only once, but twice.
