There’s a lot to know about Miguel, particularly since his unique Savage Stance opens up a whole new movelist of possibilities. These “quick notes” will get you started and make the learning process a lot easier for this interesting, powerful character.

“Super Street Fighter Carnival 2017” is the regularly occurring tournament series of Japan’s famous Mikado Arcade, featuring revolving titles (some classic, some bizarre) for its patrons to compete in. Its latest two tournaments are absolutely in the former category: they are SNK classics The King of Fighters ’98 and Real Bout Fatal Fury.

You can preview this seasons’ games and player scores with Mikado’s public Drive document, provided you know Japanese and/or Google. You can also follow the action by subscribing to Mikado’s official YouTube channel, or try to catch the action in real time when they livestream.

The first and current UFC flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson stopped by the Body Count Fighting studios to play Marvel vs Capcom:Infinite and talk about his career in both the UFC and on Twitch.

Equal parts interview and play session, Demetrious professes his love of leveling up against the competition, which is good since he’s playing against MvC:I Pro”Priest”. But, it’s his experience and parallels between competing in traditional sports and esports that really elevate this interview. Demetrious drops some valuable insight on the balance between competitive skill versus branding: “The hardest thing for some streamers is that they’re good at games, but they aren’t personable.”

Did you buy Tekken 7 solely for the New Japan Pro Wrestling collaboration? If so, you may have thought their cross-promotion was going to begin and end with the Bullet Club costumes and King’s Kazuchika Okada outfit.

Well, that’s not the case. Tekken 7: Fated Retribution is getting a title update that adds a new Hiroshi Tanahashi outfit and “Rage Art” for Lars Alexandersson. Lars’s new “Rage Art” is Tanahashi’s signature “Sling Blade” finisher, and every time you pick Tanahashi’s outfit you’ll hear his “LOVE&ENERGY” theme song. There’s also some new Bullet Club Shirts in the update for various cast members, as well as Tanahashi-themed player cards.

The title update will hit arcades on November 18th. While there is no official date set for consoles, we do still have two DLC characters to go. Perhaps Lars Tanahashi will be  packaged with Geese’s arrival? We won’t know until a further announcement, but until then: Go Ace!

Electric Wind God Vids is back with a quick stress test to the cast’s sidewalk ability in Tekken 7.

It is important to understand that sidewalk and sidestep fundamentally behave differently, and one may be preferable to the other depending upon the character you play. Always make sure you test your own character’s evasion options versus the situation you’re having trouble with in training mode. It’s true for any character in Tekken 7 that learning optimal combos is important for long-term success. Leo exemplifies this in a particular way: learning their best wall carry combos is vital not just for damage, but for setting up your best mix-ups.

Since Leo has one of the most dominate wall mix-ups in the game, you have to get them to the wall first. Ideally you’d want to do that with as much damage as possible, and that’s where Scallywag 93‘s beginners combo guide comes into play. These combos will help you carry opponents to the wall, score big damage off splats, and setup your endgame 50/50s. These are also categorized by difficultly, so if you have trouble with a particular combo, you can move on to something else until you’re ready!
