The Electric Wind God Fist (EWGF for short) is one of the Tekken community’s most favorite technical tricks. While most players–even pros–will opt for easier and more stable combos during tournaments, doing repeated EWGFs in juggles is something of a execution Holy Grail for Mishima players. It’s theoretically the strongest damage, but almost always just out of reach of mere mortals.

Knee, a Tekken legend among legends, is known for at least somewhat consistently landing four EWGFs in matches post Devil Jin’s WS+2 and Hell Sweep. Now, he’s broken that record off both moves: squeezing out a fifth hit on the small-framed Xiaoyu.

While exciting to see, it’s no surprise that Knee is the one to break it. He was able to demonstrate six EWGFs in a row a few months ago (if you include the initial launcher!).

This’ll likely still be just a party trick for most players, but it’s good to know what the record is! Let’s see if Knee can get this on stream at Evo, now. I hope he can!

The most recent CPT interview from Battle Arena Melbourne 9 is up, and its spotlight turns to Rashid pro Zowie|Oil King.

Li-Wei “Oil King” Lin reveals his The King of Fighters origins, though admits it’s Street Fighter V that made him competitive. He also admits the name Oil King has simple origins (“I want people to remember it easily!”) and that Taiwan’s best players live near enough to have weekly offline gatherings. Though he speaks through RZR|Xian’s translations, when asked about why he plays Rashid, his answer was in English, and arguably the most KOF thing he could have responded with: “He can run. Speed.”

For combo video makers, The King of Fighters series has always been rich in possibilities–mostly due to the meter-consuming sub systems with in the game, but sometimes also due to some incredible-looking glitches and oversights. YouTuber ALX is working on a project where he tries to stretch KOF2002’s system to its furthest limits. His most recent example? Kensou.

These 23 death combos are all technically possible in KOF2002, but run the gamut of practically to humanly impossible. Many of the later combos, in particular, take advantage of super collision bugs that allow combo states otherwise not possible.

In addition to making FGC-related content since 2013, YouTuber PepperBeef2Spicy made top 4 in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 at APEX 2014. It’s no surprise that he’s dedicated to the Tekken series. Just recently, he’s made a preparation video for Tekken 7: Fated Retribution for new players looking to get into the series.

The first week of Injustice 2 is drawing to a close. There’s been great tech, combos, salt, and triumphs. Judging by the influx of videos still pouring out of the NRS community, this doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Here’s what we’ve got for today!

Famed NRS player and commentator Mustard has some concept combos to ensure Scarecrow’s Traumatize is always ready to terrify.

On May 19th, 2016, M2 Co. LTD and UNKNOWN GAMES released their only fighting game to date on the Steam platform. To celebrate the release of the grounded 2D fighter Koihime Enbu, YouTuber hfblade put together some slick combo videos for the Guandao wielder Kan’u and Bident user Chō’un.

Both videos are an impressive display of the counter hit crumples, wall bounces, and ground loops this combo system has to offer…

… but his Chō’un combo video really pushes the mid-combo cross-ups to the limit, a flashy byproduct of this game’s loose juggle system.

Giant Swing, one of King’s many command grabs in Tekken 7, is the bedrock of the Feline Luchador’s mixup game. Japanese King player Doctor is back with another English-subtitled guide to help you get the most out of this frightening toss.

First, Doctor walks through some useful techniques to practice, such as buffering and preforming Giant Swing from crouching attacks. Once you’re comfortable with these two methods, you can start applying Giant Swing in place of virtually any situation where you’re likely to attack–including strange situations like during an empty jump, or after canceling his built-in sidestep throw.
