ARIKA drops short Fighting EX Layer trailer showing off updated UI, plans to bring game to Combo Breaker 2018

Chomping at the bit for some more Fighting EX Layer news? Don’t worry, ARIKA feels that way, too. They just dropped a short trailer on their YouTube channel that shows off trophies and the latest updates on their UI…

… and also, perhaps more importantly, revealed their future endeavors via their Facebook. While they are moving steadily towards the QA phase, ARIKA has revealed their plans to bring the game to Combo Breaker 2018. They’ve also reiterated their hopes for a release at the end of June of this year — things sound pretty optimistic for FEXL’s development thus far!

We apologize for the lack of updates.

Currently, it is the period of No Debug verification, and having play-tests with no problem. *Scheduled until the middle of May.

This is ARIKA’s internal rules, and after passing this, we submit the master to each area and proceed with QA.

Unless there is a big problem, we think we could release it on the announced schedule.

1) PS4: 720p resolution with shader level 1
PS4 pro: 1080p resolution with shader level 3

2) Scheduled to be released worldwide, within a 24-hour window.
(Chinese/Korean launch are still TBA)
It will launch with English and Japanese language options.

3) Legacy controllers do not correspond.

4) It will be released by the end of June.

At the moment, we are preparing a playable build (including 12 characters and 5 Gougi decks) for players to try at Combo Breaker 2018.

If you haven’t made the jump into playing as Oswald yet in The King of Fighters XIV, then you’re not playing with a full deck! Outside of his excellent damage, Oswald possess a unique and versatile set of pokes and specials, as detailed by Apolo Loussalier below.

Oswald controls space well with his assortment of wide-swinging normals, and is able to apply insane pressure thanks to Max Mode rekka mixups. If you like to control a match with style, it’s time to go all-in with Oswald.

Clutch 2018 results

Brought to us by KiT Gaming and PandaxGaming, Indianapolis’s Clutch 2018 closed out the weekend for the Midwest FGC. Behold! Here’s the VOD for Magfest 2018’s Street Fighter: The Movie (The Game) tournament

At Magfest 2018, Robot Boombox and Newchallenger teamed up to bring one of the most simultaneously beloved and reviled Street Fighter games in existence into tournament fruition: Street Fighter: The Movie (The Game)… The Tournament.

SFTMTG is strange for a lot of reasons: from its inclusion of non-movie characters like Akuma and Blade, to its bizarrely flexible juggle system. But what really takes the cake is the incredibly touchy combat system, which has goofy fake cross-ups, and random move property changes never done before or since — why on earth can Ken jump cancel a Tatsu?!

BeasTV drops 14-minute trailer for “9road” indie film, starring Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike legend Kuroda

Several months back, Daigo the BeasTV dropped a surprise trailer for what seemed to be a little indie film called 9road. At the time, little was known about the project other then its leading stars — including FGC legends such as Kuroda and Eita — were acting in roles that referenced the Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike universe.

If you had any thought in your mind that this project would somehow eventually tie to the 3rd Strike gameplay of Kuroda’s excellent Q, then the latest trailer will likely change your mind:

Clocking in at a hefty 14 minutes, this trailer leans heavily on the dark and weird 3rd Strike-inspired world and makes it clear that it is, first and foremost, its own story. 9road is a strange project for FGC alumni, and a strange source of inspiration for a serious indie film — it’ll be exciting to see how these two worlds collide in the finished project.

VesperArcade goes through all currently-known info on Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition’s Falke

Thanks to the preview gameplay given to us by WinnerStaysOn, we’re starting to get a clearer image of how Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition‘s newest DLC character, Falke, might play. But if you don’t have the hours to look through gameplay footage from WSO, that’s fine: VesperArcade‘s gathered all the info we have on the Psycho-clone in this helpful video below:

Falke is shaping up to be a slower-moving, defensive zoner with big buttons and ambiguous air approaches. This long range, patient style is a gap many players feel is under represented in SFV — we’ll get to see how she fares on the battlefield on April 24th.
