Body Count Fighting reveals trailer for BCF4, set for February 3rd, adds Dragon Ball Fighter Z to lineup

Body Count Fighting is back with their fourth entry into SoCal’s title-defense series, BCF4. BCF4 will take place on Saturday, February 3rd and will feature matches in Street Fighter V, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Tekken 7, Injustice 2, and the upcoming ArcSys/Bandai Namco fighter Dragon Ball Fighter Z.

You can watch BCF4 live on Twitch at 7:00 PM PT. The event will be hosted by comedian Kyle Shire and will feature commentary from ASuperShyGuy, Vicious, Samifish, and WonderChef.

If you were interested in attending the event in person, you’ll be happy to know that it’s free! All you have to do is head on over to the BCF4 Eventbrite page here and order your tickets. Doors will open at 6:00 PM, and there will be food trucks parked outside and casual gaming stations set up inside for everyone to enjoy.

VODs for Japan’s Kanto Tournament 3 Pokkén Tournament DX Major now available

With the Pokkén Tournament World Championship starting to shape up for 2018, now seems like a great time to check in with the scene that leads the Pokkén Tournament DX‘s meta. Of course: It’s Japan.

The Kanto Tournament is Japan’s largest offline major for Bandai Namco and Nintendo’s Pokkén Tournament DX. In its third year, this tournament brings together all corners of Japan’s scene, and Kanto Tournament 3 boasted 98 players in its bracket, which you can see here. This includes Evo champ Tonosama, Final Boss and Canada Cup champion Azazel, and more of Japan’s finest.

Burn up the competition with Coliflowerz’s character guide for The King of Fighters XIV’s Kyo Kusanagi

YouTuber Coliflowerz, whom you may remember for his “Raging Storm” Music Video, is back with more great The King of Fighters XIV content. Today, he’s tackling the fiery KOF protagonist Kyo Kusanagi in his increasingly misnamed “Quick Combo Guide” series.

I say “misnamed” because, like his Vice entry before it, this video lays out Kyo’s entire moveset, tricks, and safe jumps before moving in to his expansive combo options. Included with these combos are tips for spacing and meter requirements — everything that you need to know to start out strong with Kyo.

“Kumite in Texas” announced by PandaXGaming and KIT Gaming for July 27th-29th

It looks like KiT Gaming is expanding the definition of its acronym! Having just wrapped up Kumite In Tennessee 2018, the famed US tournament organizers have announced the “Kumite in Texas”, a new major tournament for July 27th through 29th.

This brand-new major will be held at the Irving Convention Center in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with support from PandaXGaming and NGAGE Esports. Registration and planned games are still TBD, so keep an eye on PandaxGamingUS and KiT Gaming’s official website for future announcements.

KYSG explores the flashy juggle options of Tekken 7’s Yoshimitsu

Japanese Tekken 7 player KYSG is back with another hard-hitting combo video. Last time we visited him he showed off the high damage of Lucky Chole; today, he’s pushing the toolset of Yoshmitsu.

Yoshimitsu is known for defying a lot of the standard rules in Tekken’s universe, so it makes sense that KYSG’s latest combo video is full of bizarre links and unusual juggles. For example, it’s largely trivia that you get a Rage Drive for free off of NSS FC DF+(1)2. Much of what’s here is flash over function, but there’s a good chance that’s what drew you to Tekken’s swordsman in the first place.

Tekken 7 pro Blood Talon shares Leo combos & tips with Body Count Fighting

YouTube channel and event organizer Body Count Fighting is the main streamer for the Tekken 7 weeklies over at Wednesday Night Fights in SoCal. A number of Tekken pros have battled it out on their stage and this week, one of its weekly winners — Blood Talon — stopped by to share some tournament-level tips.

Leo is one of the game’s most dominate and versatile characters. Blood Talon’s lessons here are an excellent starting point for anyone interested in learning the character. SoulCalibur VI will be playable at Evo Japan, on January 26-28

Very few people have had the chance to play Namco’s latest entry to its weapons-based fighter series, SoulCalibur VI. The game seemed in its infancy at its most recent press outings, despite reported claims of it being nearly 70% complete. Luckily, there’s a large event just around the corner for Namco to show off SCVI’s progress: Evo Japan.

During a Japanese Tekken 7 event streamed on Bandai Namco’s official Twitch channel, it was announced that SoulCalibur VI will be playable during Evo Japan 2018. This seems like a likely spot for further revelation on game-play mechanics and new characters, and will be the first time we’ll get to see series producer Motohiro Okubo address an all-FGC crowd, assuming such an announcement takes place.

Ryu main pdcsky has given himself the massive task of documenting Ryu’s optimal punishes and responses for every single match-up in Street Fighter V. It takes a real level of dedication to do this in video form, particularly for a character many in the community walked away from in Season 2.

He’s just finished the entirety of this ambitious series for Season 2 and combined it into a single, easy to digest playlist. This is an excellent start for rookie players who want to learn how frame data works, and as a study guide for veterans.

Legendary SC player Hayate breaks down SoulCalibur VI’s new mechanics

French SoulCalibur player Hayate is one of the Calibur community’s living legends, likely best known for his sweep of Team Belgium with bottom tier Yunsung in SoulCalibur II. Appropriately, Bandai Namco has invited Hayate to try out the latest iteration of the series, SoulCalibur VI. You can see his analysis of the mechanics in SCVI in his latest video.

There are some bombshell confirmations here, such as chip damage being incorporated into the redesigned “Soul Charge” mechanic, and a detailed breakdown of how the new “Reversal Edge” system works. Hayate will be gathering questions from this video to approach Namco with in regards to system mechanics, so be sure to leave a comment on his channel on what direction you want SCVI’s battle system to go in!
