From April 9th to April 22nd, Final Fantasy XIV players will be able to take part in the annual Hatching Tide event. Players will visit Old Gridania and work with Jihli Aliapoh to solve “devious puzzles and locate hidden eggs across Eorzea”. Of course, what event comes without its rewards? Participants can score “a range of Spriggan-themed armor and egg-citing banquets” for their efforts.

As a prolific guide writer, Demaria has been helping gamers find their way since the earliest days of computer gaming. We recently received a tip that Rusel is suffering from hard times on his road to recovery after injuring his DI joins, suffering from a bout of shingles and from damage suffered to his femoral nerve causing near constant pain. He and his partner are reaching out to gamers for help.
The Arcfall team has sent out a new trailer to shine the spotlight on recent changes from a top-down perspective to a “full 3D” perspective. During Bethesda’s Game Days at PAX East, I finally got time to try the Necromancer in Elder Scrolls Online’s forthcoming Elsweyr chapter. I can say, with some trepidation, that the Necromancer may be the most interesting class Zenimax has ever imagined for their MMO.
The second week of free content is up for grabs in Guild Wars 2. Players can log in and get hold of Living World Season 4 Episode 2: A Bug in the System. Players will find and explore the Sandswept Isles as part of the storyline that came out just about a year ago. Players can pick it up by visiting the Gem Store and choosing the free episode and can also score a free Metabolic Primer. Both will need to be claimed before April 8th.
A now-deleted Borderlands 3 Twitter post has caused a stir in the community with its revelation of a September 13th release date and the mention of preorder bonuses in the form of weapon skins. In addition, eagle-eyed Twitter user Wario64 also caught a now-deleted post with a brief video showing the Epic Games Store logo in the corner, possibly hinting at a timed exclusive. Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford addressed irate fans on his Twitter saying that marketing decisions like this belong to 2K/Take2.

Operencia: The Stolen Sun is a first-person dungeon crawling RPG coming out of Zen Studios, developers of Castle Storm as well as a handful of pinball games. Entering into a niche genre with relatively few standouts (Legend of Grimrock being the only recent series that comes to mind), there is a lot of room for new entries to be done well.
The Ship of Heroes team has published a new video featuring some internal footage “to show our devs how the main level is coming along”. The video is narrated by the lead environmental artist with commentary on recent changes that include day/night cycle, road designs, streetlights and street signs.
In last week’s This Week at Bungie newsletter, the Destiny 2 community was provided with a forward look at some big quality of life changes coming to the game with Update 2.2.1 currently slated for deployment on April 9th. Notably, players will find that drop rates for a variety of cosmetic items and Lore Books have been significantly increased.
