Daigo Umehara Shares His Approach to Defeating Chun-Li in Street Fighter V

Chun-Li has rapidly risen to the top of the Street Fighter V tier list, and her powerful in-game tools may prove a difficult obstacle to overcome depending on your skill level and the matchup. RB.BST|Daigo Umehara recently took to his BeasTV channel to talk about his Chun-Li counter-tactics, discussing at length her strengths–such as her fast walk speed and long-reaching normals–and how your own abilities may mislead your approach. For example: trying to use your chargeless projectile to keep her at long range may seem like a sound tactic, but won’t work because of how quickly she recovers from her own Kikoken.

Daigo is known for favoring shotos, so the video focuses on how Ryu handles the match, but the basic strategies can help you even if Ryu isn’t your SFV main.

You can also learn more about Daigo Umehara’s approach to the game with his general Street Fighter V strategies, or if you want to pick up the Interpol agent as your main, start your training with EG|Momochi’s Chun-Li basics.

R. Mika Teams Up with Zangief, and Spider-Gwen Swings Into Street Fighter V in these PC Costume Mods

The PC community for Street Fighter V has provided quite a few costume mods for the game’s cast of characters since its launch. In this new mod from TheJamk, feisty wrestler R. Mika gets her greatest wish granted, entering the ring in her own Red Cyclone-themed outfit with her idol Zangief as her tag partner. The protector of the Russian skies takes on Nadeshiko’s role with plenty of Muscle Spirit.

TheJamk isn’t finished though: we also get this version of Cammy, reskinned as Marvel Comic’s Spider-Gwen. Cammy’s swift acrobatics seem very well-suited to the webspinning heroine, channeling the original Spidey from the MvC series, and giving us a glimpse of what a Marvel vs. Capcom 4 could look like, if Spider-Gwen made it into the character roster.

Check out these other mods for Cammy and R. Mika, or learn how to install mods into your own SFV game.

ZeRo Offers Little Mac Counter-Strategies, and Analysis of Bayonetta’s Future Potential in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

If you’re getting KO’ed too much by Little Mac, Team SoloMid’s Gonzalo “ZeRo” Barrios is ready to be your coach. In his latest Super Smash Bros. for Wii U video, ZeRo offers an in-depth discussion covering how to lay Little Mac out. Effective shielding in particular can take the fight out of him–thanks to his weak grabs–or set him up for punishment if you bait him in.

ZeRo also took some time to offer analysis on what Smash 4’s recent patch 1.1.6 changed about the controversial fighter Bayonetta, examining how dangerous the Umbran gunslinger remains in the current state of the game. Her changes were significant, particularly in her combo abilities, but ZeRo doesn’t think she’s been nerfed to oblivion quite yet.

TSM|ZeRo recently returned to the Smash tournament scene with a last-minute entry to Toronto’s Get On My Level 2016.

Ryu is Super Smash Bros. for Wii U’s Most Underrated Fighter, According to ZeRo

Ryu is already one of the most prominent members of the Super Smash Bros. for Wii U roster, due to his iconic status as the central character of the Street Fighter franchise. But TSM|ZeRo believes Ryu is still underplayed and underrated despite his Street Fighter pedigree. He also believes that the shoto has much greater play potential than has been attributed to him, going as far as saying he may be the “best character right now.” ZeRo speculates that community focus on Bayonetta’s abilities has allowed Ryu’s power to slip under the radar and escape being patched out.

ZeRo discusses Ryu’s balanced build, as well as his unique strengths: such as his ability to create “true” combos by cancelling his moves, and how powerful his Shoryuken is. You must defeat his Dragon Punch to stand a chance!

ZeRo has also recently talked about how to get sponsored to play fighting games professionally.

Use Meaty Attacks to Devour Necalli’s Opponents In Street Fighter V

Expanding the growing amount of tech we’ve seen lately for Street Fighter V’s ravenous Necalli, red king adds a new video to the mix. This video highlights Necalli’s strong anti-air options (such as Raging Light, crouching heavy punch or standing heavy kick), but focusing in particular on using air-to-air medium punch to juggle the opponent into position for meaty attacks that provide potent combo opportunities–or setups for an EX command throw–and ultimately a Critical Art.
