Street Fighter V received a big batch of new premium outfits yesterday, providing Nostalgia costumes for Chun-Li, Birdie, Karin, and Balrog, while also adding Holiday outfits for Alex, Cammy, Kolin, and Menat — and a couple more Chun-Li designs from Akiman, too. RektScrub has compiled this collection of online matches featuring the new threads in action, so you can see what they look like in battle before spending that hard-earned real money.
(Chun-Li’s Alpha-era Nostalgia costume didn’t make the cut for this compilation — though she’s already included for her other two Akiman outfits.)
A two-hit Street Fighter comic combo hits store shelves today.
Wednesday means new comics — and today sees the release of the second-last issue of UDON’s limited series Street Fighter vs. Darkstalkers, as well as the inaugural issue of the reprints of the classic UDON SF comics, Street Fighter Reloaded.
The gloves are off as the champions of two worlds all come head to head and fist to fist! This maelstrom of monsters and martial artists will shake the universe to its core, in a fight for existence! It’s the penultimate chapter of STREET FIGHTER VS. DARKSTALKERS!
STREET FIGHTER RELOADED is a re-release of UDON’s original Street Fighter comic series STREET FIGHTER (2003) #1-6. This is the series that started UDON’s venture into publishing nearly 15 years ago. Written by Ken Siu-Chong, main story artwork is provided by artists Arnold Tsang (now Lead Character Concept Artist on Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch) and Alvin Lee (now Principal Artist on Riot Games’ League of Legends).
The series also features a cavalcade of comics’ top creators providing bonus stories and cover artwork. STREET FIGHTER RELOADED #1 sports both a 4-page story and cover art by comics legend Joe Madureira (Battle Chasers) … Later issues of the mini-series will include bonus stories from great talents like Kaare Andrews, Kevin Lau, and Hyung-Tae Kim.

Another week brings another Wake Up Wednesdays recap show from Capcom Fighters, featuring Michael Martin. In this week’s installment, Martin goes over new details for Capcom Cup 2017, confirming best-of-five matches throughout, and noting that the action will be broadcast on two streams this year.
He then goes into the recent shake-up caused by the withdrawal of last year’s Champion Liquid|NuckleDu from his auto-qualification spot; the Succession rule passes the auto-qualification to 2016’s runner-up EG|Ricki Ortiz. However, even though Ortiz is replacing NuckleDu in the tournament, she will actually be placed in the 31st seed position due to her CPT points being less than the other qualifiers. Meanwhile, the winner of the Last Chance Qualifier will take the 32nd slot. Watch the full video — and see the planned brackets — below!

With a new patch out in the wild introducing “DLC2” to Tekken 7, Bandai Namco has revealed some more footage of incoming Fatal Fury guest character Geese Howard’s gameplay, the new Howard Estate stage, and two new costumes in Geese’s official launch trailer:
While erroneously appearing as available now in the game menu, Geese will become available over tonight and tomorrow, depending on your platform.
Currently, you can see the display "Geese Released" after applying the latest patch, but this is incorrect. "Geese Howard" will be released from November 30th (release time will vary according to each PF). We apologize for any inconvenience. Plz wait for a while.#TEKKEN7

What’s at the top of the list for needed changes in Street Fighter V?
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is coming in January 2018, promising the addition of an extensive Arcade Mode, and a second V-Trigger for all characters — as well as what may be some glimpsed new moves for some fighters, and almost certainly a heavy round of gameplay balancing.
In his latest video, VesperArcade has started to discuss what such changes he wants to see in an upcoming patch. For the first major offender, VesperArcade adds his voice to the chorus proclaiming that Crush Counters are too powerful in the neutral game, and need to be addressed for better risk/reward balance. He explores why they are too strong, and what design tweaks could mitigate that — or perhaps they should be removed from the game entirely…?

Submissions will be accepted from November 15th to 29th.
You can send as many submissions as you want.
You must use separate forms to submit different videos.
You must include the terms GUTS and #GUTSFUN on the title, along with your own funny title.
Gameplay submissions must be recorded during a match.
All game modes are accepted.
Video editing must be limited to simple cuts, text, audio and animations. Every addition should help highlight the game, its features and the player’s reaction, but not alter the game aspect.
Submissions must have 5 seconds minimum and 3 minutes maximum.
In case of duplicate submission, the earliest video will be considered.
If a participant copies another person’s video, the copier and all of their entries will be automatically eliminated.
Videos must be set as “Public.”
The prize is exclusive for the user that submitted the video.
There will not be a second or more prizes even if two players or more recorded the video.
The contest results will be announced on GUTS social media by December 4th.
Flux Game Studio reserves the right to judge the submissions according to its own terms and opinions.
When it was revealed via a tweet yesterday from Team Liquid’s NuckleDu that he may not attend Capcom Cup 2017 in his guaranteed championship auto-qualification spot, speculation immediately kicked off as to who the replacement would be, if NuckleDu actually backed out of the event. Many people called attention to the Succession rule, that indicated last year’s runner-up would gain access to the championship auto-qualifier position if the Champion was unable to compete; the question was if this rule would indeed be applied. Speculate no more:
NuckleDu has chosen not to attend Capcom Cup 2017. According to CPT rules, the auto-qualification he earned for winning Capcom Cup 2016 is given to the runner-up.
Evil Geniuses’ Ricki Ortiz faced Du Dang last year in a famous all-American Grand Finals, and thus she has been granted Dang’s auto-qualification in his now-confirmed absence. This is bound to raise some controversy — as while it follows the letter of the CPT rules for this season, Ortiz is ranked at #84 on the global leaderboard, well out of qualification range. Will she prove to be a surprise threat against her higher-ranking opponents at the big event in December?

Unsurprisingly, big names like Street Fighter V, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Tekken 7, and the hotly-anticipated Dragon Ball FighterZ are considered a lock for Evo 2018 by many respondents. Many also consider Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, BlazBlue: Central Fiction, and the upcoming BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle (presuming it launches in time) interchangeable in a single anime slot — while some feel DBFZ also fits that bill. The question of one or both Super Smash Bros. titles naturally arises again: will Evo 2018 continue to showcase both Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Melee? And what of other new, upcoming, or niche titles out there: ARMS, Pokkén Tournament DX, Gundam Versus, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, Fighting EX Layer…?
