The SRK Rollback: Best of June 30 to July 6, 2017

Welcome to the Rollback: a frame-by-frame look back at our past week’s most notable news — and our favorite SRK articles — from June 30 to July 6, 2017!

Gundam Versus will land in America on September 29, 2017 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive

I’m looking forward to trying this game out at Evo 2017, and it’s good to know it’ll be hitting North America in only a couple of month’s time after. It’ll be arriving in Europe at the same time, too.

Frame 2:
Daigo Omnibus Vol1 cover 750x400
UDON will premiere the English version of “Daigo the Beast: Umehara Fighting Gamers!” at Evo 2017

This manga looks like more than just a piece of Daigo fandom, but also a look into the history of the competitive scene in Japanese arcades. Should be an interesting read.

Frame 2:
injustice_2_vs_JLTFPast and present collide in desk’s Injustice 2 vs. Justice League Task Force combo video

desk has become something of a combo video monolith. Every video he puts out is terrific, but this one is something special. Justice League Task Force isn’t one of the most beloved FGC titles, but when it gets the desk treatment, it looks like something special.

Frame 3:
Tekken BowlingStriiiike! Tekken Bowling returns in Tekken 7’s first DLC pack

One of the most beloved parts of Tekken is the minigames that come alongside the terrific gameplay, and while Tekken 7 has fabulous gameplay, it has been sadly short of those fun little icebreakers. Well, that’s no longer the case. Bring on Tekken Bowl.

Splitframe will be bringing Evo-branded fightstick bags and hoodies to Evo 2017

Dress yourself (and your arcade stick) in Evo style.

Splitframe is coming to Evo 2017 — and bringing along official premium Evo-branded FGC gear. You’ll be able to show your dedication to the fight with this Evo hoodie, or an Evo fightstick carrier bag (large enough to fit the Qanba Dragon):

Durable, stylish, and high-quality, both items take advantage of water-resistant DWR technology. These will be available at Arcade Shock’s booth at Evo-only prices, to be announced next week. Watch out for Splitframe’s new Groove Tech hoodies, which will be there, too! You can also place a pre-order through Splitframe online.

New Qanba Aegis fightstick carrier bag now available to order

A new shield for your Obsidian, Dragon, or other weapon of choice.

aegis_logo

Qanba, known for their premium fightsticks such as the Dragon and the Obsidian (which is also the base for Controller Chaos’ Evo 2017 fightstick), now has a new carrier bag available to protect your favorite arcade stick — and more. Check out the Aegis:

Aegis-1
Aegis-2
Aegis-3
Aegis-4
Aegis-zipperpull

Features include:
  • Fits most full-size arcade joysticks;
  • A front storage layer with meshed pockets;
  • Main joystick storage layer with reinforced stick guard;
  • Zippered accessory pockets, laptop/tablet compartment;
  • Chest support, water bottle mesh pocket;
  • Made of 100% polyester

We wanted to make a premium fightstick bag that would protect the Dragon joystick during travel, but of course it can be used with other fightsticks. The Aegis serves a different purpose than our Guardian –we had the traveling player in mind for this product. A lot of players could use extra utility in fightstick bag when traveling for tournaments and events. In addition to the Dragon, the Aegis’ secondary compartment is made to fit a laptop and even a PlayStation 4. The Aegis also attaches to your luggage.
                                                  – Andy “725” Lam, Business Development of Qanba USA

You can order your own Qanba Aegis from eightarc or Qanba USA for $79.99 USD. Unfortunately, The Aegis won’t be available on-site at Evo 2017.

Arcade Shock’s exclusive Seimitsu LS-56-01-AS multi-tension joystick available at Evo 2017 & online for pre-order

A new level of customization for your fightstick lever!

The feel and performance of your controller components can make all the difference to your play, and Seimitsu now offers an easy means to adjust the tension on your joystick lever by offering the LS-56-01-AS — a multi-tension lever, exclusive to Arcade Shock. Here’s their overview:

Besides the aesthetic improvements in FGC parts, we’ve been working on improving the user experience that can affect gaming performance. With this, we found that quite a few users have experimented with changing the way a stick feels, and the part that seems to make the biggest impact — and that is easy to swap out — is the spring.

We worked with Seimitsu to make a wide variety of spring tensions to allow the user to swap between 5 different tensions, ranging from the lowest tension .4 lbf (very light) to 4 lbf (very stiff). What’s unique about this product is that Seimitsu has not experimented with their own sticks, but accommodated us and Seimitsu fans to make these custom springs. All 5 springs are included in the kit, as well as 2 additional C-clips (to swap out the springs).

Head over to Arcade Shock to put in your pre-order for $29.95 USD, to ship in late July — or to get one sooner, look for it at the Arcade Shock booth at Evo 2017!
