The latest Shroud of the Avatar newsletter has arrived hot in our mailboxes. This week, the community is celebrated, a pair of design diaries are included as well as news about the Summer Telethon and how localization efforts are going.

If you’ve been wanting to check out the latest updates to Shroud of the Avatar, today is your chance. Portalarium is running a free trial event from May 10-31 that does contain a number of restrictions, though “you can still explore hundreds of scenes, talk with thousands of players, adventure through the opening quests, and gain experience”. All progress will be saved for those who choose to back the game.

Portalarium has announced that it has inked a deal with Black Sun Game Publishing to bring Shroud of the Avatar to Russia and other CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries. According to Richard Garriott, Black Sun is an experienced team that understands its community and that it is ideally suited to the task of bringing SotA to the region.

The latest Shroud of the Avatar newsletter has been published that provides readers with a nice array of environments to see including snowy mountaintops to a secluded Elven camp and a lonely log cabin by the side of a lake. In addition, the “one true Oracle” is working her way through the design process from concept to becoming part of the game world.

Players interested in trying out Shroud of the Avatar have a golden opportunity to do so with today’s arrival of another free trial weekend. Folks will need to create an account and download the client to get started and get familiar with the limitations of the event. You can take part from today through April 10th.

The latest Shroud of the Avatar newsletter has been published that goes into some detail about the creation of a pair of new areas and the updated Kas Ruin. In addition, the Vile Weapons of the Obsidian Cabalists are shown in a collection of new videos. Lastly a number of community events are detailed.

The Portalarium team is inviting all Shroud of the Avatar players to take part in an Epic Boss Fight this Friday, March 17th. During the event, everyone will be taking down more than a few of the game’s biggest, baddest bosses.

If you’ve been on the fence about backing Shroud of the Avatar you may want to check out their limited Free Trial running from now through March 9th. Items purchased and progressed would be saved for those who purchase the game. There are a number of restrictions in place so you want to be sure to check out the newsletter to see what they are.

Shroud of the Avatar backers will be able to take part in Release 38 that the team calls one of the “larger releases” in the game’s development history. Players can look forward to rebuilt locations, including “huge strides forward on multiple scenes”. Canyon Siege has also been added to the rotation as well as Blood Bay to the PvP scene.
