Akuma players likely had some negative emotions about the nerf to f+HP’s advantage in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. Those that miss the pressure this chunky, throw-avoiding command normal provided don’t need to sweat too much — thanks to its big active frames, there’s still ways to lock down foes with this mighty chop.

As NurseLee demonstrates in his latest video, there’s a rather simple setup for this: perform f+HP after landing your V-Trigger Shoryuken, and you can turn that -2 into +2. This is perfect for locking down 3-framers and keeping your V-Trigger momentum going!

The cast of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is quite large, encompassing all of the past characters in the series, as well as bringing in “Echo” fighters. It’s quite the large cast to go over, but top Smash player TSM|ZeRo managed to do it in a stream.

While the video below is indeed very long, ZeRo moves relatively quickly through each character, giving you the lowdown on their major changes and his general impressions. So if you’re wondering what he thinks of your favorite character, scroll a bit below to view timestamps for the video. Keep in mind that this is based on just a demo, and that the game is bound to drastically change during ongoing development.

ARIKA just put up a seemingly innocuous video this morning to demonstrate the graphical difference between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro versions of their upcoming game Fighting EX Layer. Ultimate trolls that they are, though, it was all a ruse to hide a Rosso:

Perhaps we should have known what was going to happen when it was on a Volcano stage. If there was even any perceptible difference between the two versions, no one’s going to be talking about it now: Volcano Rosso is a fan=favorite of the EX series whose exclusion from the main roster was frustrating. He was originally teased to be DLC post-release along with Pullum and Area, if the game did well — with this reveal, it looks like we’re either set for a full-on character trailer soon, or at least more info on how DLC will work for FEXL.

Learn how two of Team UYU’s finest are coping with the good and bad of Season 3.5’s balance changes.

In his latest video, Core-A-Gaming interviews two of the top players in the Capcom Pro Tour today, Team UYU’s NL and OilKing, about how they’re dealing with the buffs and nerfs their characters received in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition’s Season 3.5 balance patch. In the case of Oil King, Rashid — considered by many to be the absolute best character in Season 3 —  was hit massively with the nerf bat; meanwhile, NL’s main Cammy was given another round of buffs (much to the chagrin of many community members).

At Saigon Cup last April (which took place around three weeks after the mid-season balance patches were implemented) Core-A-Gaming interviewed both of these teammates for their thoughts on Capcom’s adjustments to their favorite fighters. Oil King was annoyed that his character was changed so drastically halfway through the Pro Tour, but swore to press on, as fans identified him with Rashid — though he was not above adding other World Warriors such as Falke to his roster to assist in now-unfavorable match-ups. But NL, who picked up his first win of the Season at Saigon Cup, spoke on the importance he places on tier lists and the hate that can come with winning using a top-class fighter.

If you’re looking for some quality Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 gameplay, look no further than Tension Pulse, an exciting and ongoing series originating in the United States. Carried through the fairly-reliable Steam servers of the game, the online first-to-seven sets often do themed events, too. It’s also a great chance to learn more about the game, as the entertaining live commentary is often insightful as well. Catch up on the recent episodes below:

The latest episode was all about mirror-matches! It’s an opportunity to see how players who are experts in their character deal with someone who may use the same tricks as they do. But also, there’s enough room for individuality in Guilty Gear so that two people often end up playing the same character in a very different manner. See how Haehyun and I-no players duked it out in the video above.

The previous episode focused on doren2k, one of the best Jam players in the US, who is moving to Japan for a year. Multiple players showed up for tense and funny matches, including a Jam mirror match with sweetxjam. doren2k displays great fortitude as he continuously fights various players over two and a half hours.
