Mian and Luong officially confirmed for SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy

A few weeks back, a leak led to the reveal of Luong as part of the cast of SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. Alongside this, we also got the hint that another character was supposed to be revealed before her. Now we know who that character is: Mian.

Both characters are have been confirmed as part of a new E3 trailer from Nintendo. We’ve already seen Luong in action in the leaked trailer — and the footage here shows more of the same. This, however, is the first time we’re seeing Mian in-game, and the video demonstrates that she still retains her command jumps and divekicks from The King of Fighters XIV .

As for her costumes, she gains an elegant (if short) Chinese-style mini dress with a half-domino mask, as well as a more formal “teacher” look with glasses. However, it seems that these don’t change depending on her moves, unlike her original costume’s mask in KOFXIV.

Check out the new trailer below:

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy launches on Switch and PlayStation 4 on September 6 in Japan, and September 7 in the West, with an arcade release sometime later.

Nintendo announced Super Smash Bros. Ultimate during its E3 Nintendo Direct with a host of new information.

First and foremost, every single character from the entire franchise is included in the new title, this means characters like Ice Climbers, Solid Snake, Wolf, Pichu, and Young Link have returned after being missing in action for a title or two.

Most characters in the roster have also received many adjustments to their designs and movesets. Stages have been given major upgrades and additions as well, including extra hazards. New stages are also being added to represent more-recent Nintendo titles, like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

“Clone” characters are now described as “Echo Fighters”. They will be signified by the epsilon symbol. Characters that fit into this mold specifically are Dark Pit and Lucina. Princess Daisy will be joining the roster as well as a new Echo Fighter of Princess Peach.

Also, for all of those amiibo lovers out there, all Super Smash Bros. series amiibo and variations of those characters will all be compatible with the new game.

Smash Bros. wouldn’t be the same without GameCube controller support so, in order to keep with tradition, the classic controller will be compatible with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate — and it looks like a new edition will be sold soon as well.

To conclude the presentation, the long requested character, Ridley, from the Metroid Franchise, was also announced to be joining the Super Smash Bros. pantheon as a new playable fighter, alongside the new Inkling fighter. Both will get new amiibo figures, too.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will release for Nintendo Switch on December 7, 2018, so be ready to brawl in the most comprehensive Smash title yet! Check out everything Nintendo announced for the new title in their E3 2018 video below.

For Honor’s upcoming “Marching Fire” expansion brings with it castle sieges and a new faction

At E3 2018, Ubisoft showed that they were still supporting their medieval sword-fighting game For Honor by announcing a new expansion; called Marching Fire, the new expansion brings with it some new features for players to sink their teeth into.

First up is a new faction: the Wu Lin. This Chinese-inspired faction brings with it new warriors: Jiang Jun who wields a guandao, ex-bodyguard Nuxia who brings a pair of shuang gou, a Shaolin wielding a staff, and the tragic figure Tiandi, who uses a massive broadsword.

In addition to the new faction, Marching Fire also brings with it a new mode called “Breach”. This mode involves a castle siege where one team of four tries to break into the castle, while another does their best to defend it.

Other additions to Marching Fire include a new “unlimited” single-player or two-player co-op mode where players can face AI opponents together, as well as graphical updates. No significant details of both of these have been provided by Ubisoft yet.

For Honor‘s Marching Fire expansion launches on October 16, 2018. For those looking to try the game out, however, the game is currently free on PC until June 18.

Get ready to go beyond: MY HERO ONE’S JUSTICE is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch in October 2018

“Never underestimate Heroes!”

Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed as part of E3 2018 that their upcoming arena brawler My Hero One’s Justice — based on the My Hero Academia anime franchise — will be released in the Americas during October 2018. You’ll be able to join the action on PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch.

Check out the new E3 trailer — featuring a selection of the playable Heroes and Villians, and some glimpses of the character creation features:

From the Bandai Namco press release:

MY HERO ONE’S JUSTICE, the 3D arena fighting game based on the popular Weekly Shonen Jump manga and anime franchise, will launch in the Americas this October for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, PC via STEAM, and Nintendo Switch.

MY HERO ONE’S JUSTICE enables players to form three-person squads made up of their favorite U.A. High students, such as Izuku MidoriyaKatsuki Bakugo, and Tsuyu Asui. Squads can also include Pro Heroes, such as All Might and Eraserhead, and villains, such as StainDabi, and Himiko Toga, all fighting for their ideals in over-the-top three-dimensional, environment-destroying battles. Each squad consists of one primary fighter and up to two sidekicks, mirroring how Pro Hero teams are often structured in the anime.

During combat, fighters can call upon their sidekicks, as well as utilize their signature Quirks (the defining superpower of every hero and villain), to land explosive combination attacks to turn the tides of battle or finish off an opponent. As each character’s Quirk and support attack is unique, and can be executed on the ground, in the air, or even on buildings, MY HERO ONE’S JUSTICE affords players the opportunity to “GO BEYOND” like only the MY HERO universe can.

MY HERO ONE’S JUSTICE enables players to live the anime and gives them the chance to play through character-defining moments from the anime and from game-exclusive original scenarios in Story Mode. After clearing the story from the hero’s point-of-view, players unlock Villain Mode, where they will be able to play through the story from the villain’s perspective. By completing these missions, players can unlock items for their characters, making them even more powerful. Players can choose to play online and battle other players to hone their skills and become a worldwide hero.

Mikado Arcade’s Street Fighter Carnival 11 begins with World Heroes 2 tournament

Yes, I know, we’re slap in the middle of E3. But Mikado Arcade has decided it’s time for their retro fighter classic, Street Fighter Carnival 11, and no matter what time it is, they’re right. This wild tournament series pits Japan’s FGC against each other across a wide variety of arcade games between June 11th and July 6th — and it begins with a SFC staple, World Heroes 2.

Mikado Arcade will track the tournament performances of players via this public google document, which has also given us a sneak peek at future titles down the line: Virtua Fighter 3tb, Fight Fever, and, hilariously, the Taito soccer game Football Champ.

You can follow the action of SFC11 by subscribing to Mikado’s official YouTube channel. For the night owls in the US, you can even try to catch them when they livestream.
