YEAR OF THE OX offers a musical tribute to Street Fighter in this fan video: “STREET FIGHT”

Style, samples, and lots of love make this “Ode to Capcom” worth the listen.

Inspired by the release of Street Fighter V‘s Arcade Edition update, hip-hop artist YEAR OF THE OX made this music video — “STREET FIGHT (An Ode to Capcom)” — to express their love for that most influential of fighting game franchises. For those of still riding on hype of the spectacular Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition action from Evo Japan this past weekend, this is right up our alley.

Raven teleports into Street Fighter V via this PC character mod

A certain shades-wearing ninja didn’t make it into Tekken 7‘s launch roster, but it appears that he has found his way into the battle of the World Warriors. A Street Fighter V PC mod by SleepingMaster let’s you exchange Nash’s vest and spectacles for the option to be the spitting image of the Tekken series’ Raven.

The mod is very well done, and it’s surprising how many similarities between Nash and Raven have gone unnoticed until now: they’ve both got teleportation abilities and assassination skills, they’re both bespectacled men with very noticeable battle scars, who prefer to let their fists do the talking.

This Raven mod for Street Fighter V also comes with 10 unique color swaps. Check it out in action in the video below — and you can pick it up here.

Master your psychic powers with Izaw’s “Art of Mewtwo” guide for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Mewtwo has been a popular guy ever since his epic and compelling role in the first Pokémon movie, but certain factors have kept him from being a popular pick in the competitive Super Smash Bros. scene. With all his faults accounted for, he can still be a deadly force in the hands of the right player but unfortunately, you hear more about what makes him a bad pick than what makes him a good one.

Smash 4 veteran Izaw breaks down the good, the bad and the ugly of Mewtwo in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U in his latest “Art of” series. Appropriately describing him as a glass cannon character, Izaw takes his time to show you each of Mewtwo’s moves and possible player strategies so you can decide for yourself whether he is a cannon worth firing.

Check out Izaw Smash’s Art of Mewtwo video below, so you too can learn the art of Mewtwo.

Dragon Ball FighterZ roundup: Team Goku, desk’s SSGSS Goku combos, Level 1 loops, and more!

Welcome back to West City! How are your combos coming along in Dragon Ball FighterZ? Considering the sheer number of people playing the game right now, you certainly have plenty of opportunities to try your new setups online.

datHazy‘s Gohan combo starts us off, and sets a theme for many of our submissions this week: the incorporation of Goku Black.

Goku Black has been one of our most submitted-for characters in our roundups, be it on point or as an assist. Here’s SitverGold‘s take on Vegeta/Goku Black.

desk‘s Super Saiyan Blue Goku combos are as cinematic as anything else we’ve come to expect from him.

SmGPreCiSioN shows off some midscreen combos for Cell.

Tiago Gutierres shows off the versatility of Team Goku.

Tired of all these Gokus, yet? There’s a character made specifically to dunk on them: here’s Persona Entertainment‘s exploration of Android 16’s combo potential.

If you’re a new player struggling to find your footing, rooflemonger has an excellent break down for defeating the (wildly overused) Homing Dash.

Moving beyond combos, GLHFtv breaks down Frieza’s neutral and moveset.

And lastly, Boodendorf‘s multi-character combo video shows off impressive loops and assist usage to extend combos after Level 1 supers.

As always, if you see anything worth sharing, let us know by submitting a tip for our next roundup. Thanks to everyone who did!

Enchantress beats the living hex out of her enemies in this Injustice 2 combo video

With all the hype surrounding Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition and Dragon Ball FighterZ lately, it’s refreshing to see that Injustice 2 is still getting the love it deserves. After all, it wasn’t that long ago that Fighter Pack 3 was announced, and it’s possible that more news regarding the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles can reignite the Injustice 2 hype train sometime soon.

Speaking of Fighter Pack 3, YouTuber Kaee HD has created a sick combo video for Enchantress, who’s spooky exploits have been showing up in all sorts of footage since her premiere on January 9th. Employing a style that meets at a shady crossroad between Green Lantern and Swamp Thing, she summons all kinds of voodoo to make obedient corpses out of her foes.

Complete with eerie background music, a suicide squad-related dialogue intro, and Joker’s Playground as the backdrop, you can check out Kaee HD’s Enchantress combo video for Injustice 2 right here.

Rising Up: Season 3 — New V-Triggers and important changes for M. Bison, Vega, Dhalsim, Zangief, & Karin

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is barely two weeks old, but it seems players are rapidly adapting to the balance changes and new V-triggers for their characters. But, not only do players need to know the new adjustments to their own character, they need to know their opponents’ new tools! In light of this, I’m doing a series of videos on ShoryukenTube showing off the most important gameplay adjustments for each character. I’m making one video a day in this series, until I’ve covered all characters.

I’m doing the characters in the order they appear on Capcom’s official patch notes. The order seems to be SFV’s twelve returning characters, the four new characters, the first season of DLC, and then the second season of DLC, in order of release. This week’s five characters are M. Bison, Vega, Dhalsim, Zangief, and Karin.

Continuing with last time, I’m also doing a video covering each character’s new V-trigger II. These new V-triggers significantly affect gameplay, and they have a lot of intricacies that are not well defined in the game’s demonstration mode. So, I look at each character’s new V-Trigger in detail and explain its uses.

That’s ten characters down! Check out the prior batch of five here:

Rising Up: Season 3 — New V-Triggers and important changes for Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Cammy, & Nash

I’ll continue with both series every day until I’ve covered all characters, which should take about a month total. Keep an eye on the ShoryukenTube YouTube channel, so you don’t miss out!

The shield is mightier than the sword in this Tsubaki combo video for BlazBlue Central Fiction

Charging Star, anime knows thee not. In BlazBlue Central Fiction, Tsubaki Yayoi might as well be the protector of America, using her shield a lot like the star-spangled Avenger. In this combo video, she shows just how devastating it can be.

While not featuring much in the way of Exceed Excel and other advanced mechanics, this video shows off what she can do with just Rapid Cancels and Distortion Drives, showing great amounts of damage and corner carry potential she can get off of Central Fiction’s basic mechanics. This shows that with a dash of creativity, Tsubaki will knock the stars and stripes into you.

It’s not Tekken X Street Fighter, it’s just Paul Phoenix cosplaying as Ken in this stylish Tekken 7 combo video

One of the best parts of Tekken 7 is its character customization, which lend itself to a large amount of creativity. When combined with the creativity of combo videos, you get things like this.

In this video, we see a string of Paul Phoenix combos. Or is it Ken Masters? It’s hard to tell, given the cosplay. But he’s not the only one decked out for a cosplay convention as various other characters, including Lars, Lucky Chloe, Lili, and Xiaoyu, are dressed up as Street Fighter characters to be Paul’s punching bags.

With Tekken X Street Fighter lost in the mists of time, this may be the only chance you’ll get of seeing more Street Fighter characters fighting in a 3D arena.

Forsburn and Ranno shine in this Rivals of Aether combo video

With the platform fighter undergoing a mini-renaissance, Rivals of Aether has been leading the charge in both mechanical innovation and player numbers. With any game that gains some sort of popularity, combo videos are bound to follow.

In this video we see some amazing Forsburn and Ranno combos — practical ones, as evidenced by their usage in actual matches. You see an amazing display of spikes, creating early losses as stocks, as well as one sequence that results in a quick two-stock loss.

With T2’s CakeAssault really push the envelope for Forsburn with his victory at Genesis 5 last weekend, expect many more Forsburn players roaming around in Ranked play.
