It’s a generally accepted fact that Injustice 2‘s Brainiac is a coin-flipping monster once he pins you down in the corner. With access to unreactable combo-starting options from both a 9-frame overhead and a 7-frame low, jockeying for position becomes incredibly important in order to beat the “Collector of Worlds.”

MK_REO, a NRS content creator and Method Gaming -sponsored player, observed that this isn’t enough to build a gameplan off of, when fighting Brainiac. The reason for this is because the “background bounce” mechanic allows him to setup the same unseeable, high-damage mix-up mid-screen on certain stages — which, as REO notes, is half the stage list of the game.

In most fighting games, control of the neutral is all important. It’s also a little more difficult to maintain in the backdash heavy, high-execution world of Tekken 7.

But whereas grapplers in other games might spend their time on just getting in and coin flipping, the hyper-mobile Jaguar can control the neutral with his own assortment of strong, long range pokes. Mixed in with his wave-dashing and whiff punishing capabilities, King’s neutral is just as fearsome as his Giant Swing.

This past weekend at the New York Comic Con, Capcom brought out Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite’s first batch of DLC characters: Black Panther, Monster Hunter, and Sigma. Alongside revealing the release date for the three, they also allowed people to try them out at the show.

For those who weren’t able to go to NYCC, GameSpot was able to capture some direct feed footage of the three in action. The video below features a match between all three characters (alongside Captain Marvel) duking it out. While the gameplay on showcase isn’t exactly high-level competitive play (you can tell that whoever is playing is letting their opponent get some hits in), we do see some examples of what these characters are capable of, such as Monster Hunter’s post-super install mode, and Black Panther and Sigma’s wall jumps.

With Capcom bringing Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite to the New York Comic Con, it should come as no surprise that Long Island’s favorite son, Joe “LI Joe” Ciaramelli, was at the event to try the characters out.

Also at the event was Mark “BornFree” Sheridan, who caught up with LI Joe. In the video below, BornFree shares some of LI Joe’s matches against Capcom’s Mike D, while also getting his impressions on the DLC characters — who he’s using, what he thinks will be effective with them, and more.
