Throw your weight around with Maximilian’s Majin Buu character breakdown for Dragon Ball FighterZ
Concluding his character breakdowns of the currently-playable cast of Dragon Ball FighterZ, Maximilian arrives at the final major antagonist of Dragon Ball Z, the wizard Bibidi’s greatest creation, Majin Buu.
The pudgy Majin — as you would expect — boasts some pretty long normal attacks with his ability to stretch his limbs, in addition to having a unique command grab in the Potbelly Attack, where he detaches part of his body and uses it to restrain his foes. (Max was unfortunately unable to get footage of this move). His other specials involve him flailing about and throwing his massive weight around, similar to Abigail in Street Fighter V. Buu also possesses a cartwheel, affording him increased mobility options.
Buu’s level 1 super,”You Know What… I Hate You!” sees the giant Majin create a full-screen explosion that can trigger Destructive Finishes if it knocks out an opponent. His invincible level 3 involves the use of his signature Chocolate Beam, as Buu turns his opponent into a shortbread cookie — just as he did to Demon King Dabura — before consuming them for both massive damage and the ability to heal himself. You can see the full video below, as well as links to all of Max’s previous breakdowns.
Dragon Ball FighterZ will be released in February 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam PC.

Pick up Eliza in Tekken 7’s with mastermind’s comprehensive breakdown
For Street Fighter players who want to play Tekken 7 but didn’t quite find a home with Akuma, Eliza is an excellent alternative. She still shares many of the 2D attributes that paved the way for Akuma (such as a Dragon Punch, meter, and fireball) but has a less polarized move list full of decent mid pokes and an actual command grab.
The latest tutorial video by mastermind goes over her excellent list of punishment options, meter management, and combo damage. For those that learn best from lecture-style videos, this hour-long comprehensive guide is everything you’ll need to start your Eliza conversion.

Ultron Sigma appears in Ranked Matches on the PC version of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite
Last month, we reported that PC Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite players were able to make boss characters Ultron Sigma and Ultron Omega playable. Fortunately at the time, players were simply using the fused mechanical monstrosities — who were clearly not intended to be played by humans — in Arcade Mode and vs. the CPU. However, this situation has already seemed to reach its next logical step, as a player by the name of Lily Pad Lady Pad Lucky Pad has brought Ultron Sigma into the world of Ranked Matches, replacing Hulk’s files to select the amalgamation.
Utilizing them alongside Doctor Strange and the Soul Stone, this player battled Milton “PRK Patron” Sanchez, who managed to secure a 2-0 victory with Mega Man X/Nemesis + Time, despite the odds, which he then uploaded to his Facebook account. You can see the full set of matches below, during which you’ll likely notice that neither Strange nor Ultron Sigma have call-out audio when tagging in each other.
It remains to be seen whether or not Capcom will address this exploit in an upcoming patch. Have you run into Ultron Sigma in any online matches? If so, how did you fare? Would you like to see a balanced, fully-playable version of the character released in the future? Sound off in the comments below.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is currently available in North America, Europe and Japan on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam PC.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will allow players to collect all seven Dragon Balls in actual matches
As previously reported, Game Informer is focusing heavily on Dragon Ball FighterZ in their latest issue. The issue covers a lot of topics: such as how certain cast members were selected, why we have separate Super Saiyan Blue versions of Goku and Vegeta (there were too many references for them to add in a single character), why Android 21 (they wanted a new female villain that could stand up to the rest of the cast), and who’s working on the game (Junya Motomura and Seiji Fukumoto, who worked on the Persona 4 Arena games).
However, the big news from the articles is the reveal of a brand new mechanic. Dragon Ball FighterZ will allow players to actually collect all seven Dragon Balls in a single match. By completing certain actions, players will be granted Dragon Balls during the match. As for what collecting all seven does, this hasn’t been revealed as of yet. However, producer Tomoko Hiroki did say that the Dragon Balls “represent a system that isn’t found in any other fighting game, and is a brand new feature in the Dragon Ball series.”
Now, while neither Bandai Namco nor Arc System Works have given any more specific details about the Dragon Balls, Game Informer accidentally published gameplay footage showing the mechanic early on their site, and a reddit poster named Huffee has been able to analyze these to figure out how to collect them. Basically, Dragon Balls are rewarded every ten hits of a combo, with the 1 star ball at 10 hits, the 2 star ball at 20 hits, and so on and so forth.
Now while Game Informer has taken the footage down, FadedRevolution has shared copies of these onto their YouTube. You can check these out below.
For a more specific breakdown, a short animated GIF has been uploaded showing the specific moments from the above videos where Dragon Balls are earned.
We’re bound to learn more about Dragon Ball collection mechanic in the coming months, so stay locked on to Shoryuken for more on this and other news on Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Black Panther and Sigma join the fight in the latest Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite trailer [UPDATED]
Following up on Monster Hunter‘s reveal from Tokyo Game Show, Capcom has now shared some gameplay footage of two more of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite‘s upcoming DLC fighters: the defender of Wakanda Black Panther, and Mega Man X’s arch-nemesis Sigma. Black Panther wields his claws as effectively as one would expect — with flurries of slashing attacks — while Sigma brings energy beam and bladed attacks to bear, and a mind-hacking Hyper as well. See the trailer below:
The trailer closes promising the arrival of Monster Hunter, Black Panther, and Sigma on October 17. This is confirmed on the Capcom-Unity blog, which also clarified that each DLC fighter will cost $7.99 USD if purchased individually, including a premium costume.
2017 Character Pass holders will receive all six of the first-run DLC fighters automatically.

Koefficient introduces you to BlazBlue: Central Fiction’s mechanics with a beginner tutorial
BlazBlue: Central Fiction is a bit of a daunting game to pick up. It not only has large character cast, but there’s plenty of game mechanics that have been tacked on over the years. While the title does feature a robust tutorial — with hints for specific characters — sometimes it’s better to have someone talk to you through it, or you want to learn on the go. YouTuber Koefficient created a thorough video that unravels the Wheel of Time.
He starts out by explaining the gauges around the screen, particularly delving into the Burst Gauge, which is shared with the Overdrive mechanic. Related to it are Active Flow and Exceed Accel, which are an empowered state and a special move from Overdrive, respectively. After that, Koefficient explains Barrier and Crush Trigger, then goes into more basic mechanics, like throws and throw teching.
Have a friend who keeps getting Purple Thrown, or someone who’s been looking at BlazBlue, but not fully understanding it? The video might be just for them. If you’re looking for guides specifically for characters, look into videos from Level 482 Productions.

The Atom is coming to Injustice 2
Tonight, Warner Bros. Games had something special for people tuning into the CW. Aside from details of the “Chasing the Cup” last chance qualifier, they also showed world exclusive footage of the next DLC character for Injustice 2.
Joining the roster of Injustice 2 is none other than the size-changing hero Ray Palmer, a.k.a. the Atom. As expected, his moveset revolves around shrinking down to set up some hard-to-catch special moves, and then growing to deal some massive damage.
After being shown on the CW, the Atom’s trailer was accidentally published early on Nether Realm Studios’ official Injustice 2 YouTube channel. While the trailer was initially taken back down, it’s now up again for everyone to see. Check it out below.
