Marth’s Dancing Blade is a great mixup tool for Super Smash Bros. Melee players to learn. However, controlling it properly is a very difficult task–and could be the difference between getting a kill and getting punished yourself.
Fortunately, this video below goes over the various options you have for the move, as well as what it’s good for. It also covers delaying the follow ups of the move, in order to make your opponent mis-time their spot dodges.
Some time back, we reported on Untechable Performance and Game Abroad bringing a portable set-up for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to New York’s Rockefeller Center. Now, the crew is back–this time bringing UMvC3 to Union Square, with a few friends to help them out.
Joining them on this new edition of Where’s Marvel are some familiar faces from the community, namely BROKENTIER’s Persia, as well as New York players Jago and Punisher. More than just to play the game however, the crew were out trying to raise some money to donate to charity–and get UMvC3 to Evo 2017.
With the game no longer having a guaranteed slot at Evo, the call “Where’s Marvel” has become more relevant to the community. It’s fitting then that something that uses that exact name is now helping to get the word out to give UMvC3 a proper send-off at Evo 2017.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is going all-in with the circuits, as Events2Compete have revealed a special North American tour for its next major, Midwest Mayhem 8. Collaborating with different tournament organizer teams in the USA, Mexico and Canada, this North American tour will earn nine players free flights to compete in Chicago for Midwest Mayhem 8 on April 9th. Starting off with 2GGaming’s Midwest Mayhem Saga next weekend, where the top placing player from SoCal will earn a flight to Chicago, the other tournaments on this roadshow are:
Panda Global are also planning to host a PG Key to Midwest Mayhem 8 for the final 9th spot, so look out for more details on that in the near future. Midwest Mayhem 8 is not limited to just Smash 4 though, as there will be tournaments for both Street Fighter V and Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- should you wish for some more-traditional fighting game action.
This tour is quite the meeting-of-the-minds for the Smash 4 community, and I hope it fosters more collaboration between TO teams from around North America. The next step to link up with both European and Japanese TOs to make tournaments like this a truly global experience. For more details about the North American tour for Midwest Mayhem 8, check out the smash.gg page which contains links to all the qualifying tournaments, as well as the main event in Chicago.
Following the announcement of Black Canary last week for Injustice 2, NetherRealm have released some more in-game footage of the sonic superhero fighting against Deadshot, Supergirl, Blue Beetle and Batman. This footage sheds some more light on her combat trait, which has her charging up her Canary Cry to release a high frequency screech to stun her opponent. A yellow level scream will only knock opponents back a short distance, while a fully charged red Canary Cry will send people flying full screen. If Black Canary is close enough, the Cry can cause a wallbounce but from more than midscreen, it will cause a wall hit and a mini stagger state once the opponent lands. This gives her time to run in and continue a combo.
These fights also outline Deadshot’s combat trait as well as his zoning potential in Injustice 2. There is clear inspiration from Erron Black’s Marksman Variation from Mortal Kombat X in Deadshot’s kit, especially with his rifle and bouncing bullets. His combat trait has him switching between standard, incendiary and acidic rounds, with his mask glowing a different color depending on the bullet type. If you hated day-one Deathstrokes back in the original Injustice, be prepared for some campy Deadshot players when you boot up Injustice 2.
One of the most influential members of the Marvel vs. Capcom community is none other than Michael “IFC Yipes” Mendoza. From being a memorable competitor and commentator in Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Yipes has emerged as something of a leader for the community in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
With this in mind, many players were looking towards how Yipes would respond it was announced that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 would not be automatically guaranteed for Evo 2017, instead relegated to being a “Players Choice” possibility. And respond he did, in a recent stream on his Twitch channel.
Though the game is still leading the Players Choice vote (with $18,456 as of writing this article), he still feels that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 should have been given a guaranteed slot as a proper send-off for the title (with Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite coming next year). As part of this, he points out how the series has been a cornerstone of of Evo, even before it took on that name and was still known as B4.
You can check out the entirety of Yipes’ stream below.
Evil Geniuses’ K-Brad had a pretty difficult week. Joining former teammate, Echo Fox’s Justin Wong, on ESL’s King of the Hill, the two were left decimated by east coast Balrog player Smug.
There is nothing more frustrating than a loss like that, and K-Brad and his Cammy will certainly be looking for redemption. When he goes up against friendly rival Mike Ross and his Laura, then it is sure to be fireworks as he looks to shake off the salt from the ESL match. However, based on certain infamous matches from Twitch’s Capcom Pro Talk, these two competitors are certainly not going to give the other an easy time of it.
Bison has two excellent tools. Everyone knows about his excellent poking game that can stop his opponents in their tracks, doling out decent damage in the process. But very few truly utilize his excellent mixup potential that can capitalize on how easily his pokes can shut players down.
This tutorial teaches you how to use his scissor kicks alongside his Devil’s Reverse to mix up your opponents. Before you know it, players will be confused on how to properly block you.
It seems that Yukadon has joined fellow Nash alum Infiltration of Team Razer in abandoning ship. Nash certainly received the lion’s share of nerfs in season 2 of Street Fighter V, and we have since seen all three Nash players from Evolution 2016 switch mains, with the third one–LI Joe–switching to Urien.
But it seems like great minds think alike, because much like Infiltration, Yukadon has found his way over to Ibuki this season. He is doing well with her, and this compilation shows his progress with the character.

Elizabeth has always had a lot of strength in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and they show in this recent combo video. Despite her lack of mobility, it doesn’t mean much when her elevator only goes down to the depths of Hell.
In this combo video, you see nothing but touches of death. I’m talking literal touches of death–she is putting people in coffins after all. Elizabeth is most certainly dangerous if she gets even a hit on you. You’ll be taking a quick trip down to an early grave should you get tagged by Elizabeth.
