A Pokkén Tournament side event is coming to Evo 2017, via Pokkén Arena & AnimEVO

Pokkén Tournament returns to Evo (unofficially)!

Looks like Pokkén Tournament has made it to Evo 2017 after all–as a side tournament, hosted through a partnership between Pokkén Arena and AnimEVO. The event will take place in Evo’s BYOC area, and entry is $5.00 USD–cash only, paid on-site. You naturally will need a pass to Evo 2017 itself to participate in this event–or any of the side tournaments that may be held. Keep an eye on the smash.gg page for more info on this event. It will be streamed on Twitch here.

The Pokkén Tournament community has been quite active in supporting the game that they love, fighting to keep interest alive while we wait to hear if Nintendo will finally patch the Wii U game to match the arcade version, or maybe announce a complete port for Nintendo Switch.

AnimEVO is bringing many other great games to Evo for side events; check out the rest of their planned roster here!

Denjin power: Inescapable fireball setups for Ryu in Street Fighter V

Keep that corner pressure on with oppressive denjin fireballs!

In Street Fighter V, Ryu’s V-Trigger state opens up new aggressive options for the fighter–provided you’re familiar with what he’s capable of, and the timing required to make the most of charged fireballs without getting punished mid-charge! The video below demonstrates some setups to utilize such timing to keep your opponent either on the ground, or suffering the shock of an electrified Hadoken.

This video predates the latest balance patch, but the if the patch notes are still accurate, these techniques should be minimally affected.

Tekken 7 is all set to put an end to the grim Mishima legacy!

Tekken 7 is now officially available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC! Here’s Bandai Namco’s official launch trailer, encouraging you to “Bring the Fight!”

Hone your murderous intent in this dojo stage mod for Street Fighter V on PC

Two challengers have already failed to defeat the master of this dojo…

If you want to add some more Asian flair to your stage selection in Street Fighter V, you’re in luck–on PC, at least! You can download this great (and grim!) stage mod for free at monkeygigabuster’s DeviantArt page! It replaces either The Grid or the Temple of Ascension.

Xuses shows what the stage looks like in action in the video below. It looks like both Evil Ryu and Oni have fallen victim to the resident of this dojo… who could be that strong…?

The leader of a new Shadaloo (it seems) is already making a splash in Street Fighter V.

In the aftermath of Street Fighter V’s 30-hour update, Ed is now officially part of the roster! We already got a taste in the second CFN beta test, so let’s see what the community is up to with the Young Commander now.

Naturally, combo maestro desk is all over a new SFV fighter. Check out a little preview video (where not even a stray Sonic Boom can stop the beatdown), and then desk’s full Ed CMV treatment, full of the crazy combo shenanigans we’re used to:

UDON’s Street Fighter vs. Darkstalkers #5 now available for pre-order

The battle continues between the Street Fighters and the Night Warriors in the fifth installment of UDON’s epic crossover!

UDON Entertainment’s wild 8-issue crossover series just kicked off officially with the release of issue 1, and now you can put in your pre-order for issue 5 of Street Fighter vs. Darkstalkers. From UDON:

A Darkstalker hunter faces a raging demon, as Donovan Baine finds himself square in the path of the master of the fist–Akuma! The crossover chaos continues in STREET FIGHTER VS. DARKSTALKERS!

As usual, the issue gets two standard covers, and a 10 copy retailer incentive cover. Edwin Huang gives us the main story cover (cover A), and Andrea Cofrancesco (of Arcadia Quest) illustrates a guest artist variant (cover B); the retailer incentive homage cover (cover C), a classic comic tribute, is by Joe Ng.

Street Fighter vs. Darkstalkers #5 arrives in comic stores near you in August 2017. All issues of Street Fighter VS. Darkstalkers are also available digitally via comiXology.
